Nintendo’s classic rail shooter is reborn in Star Fox on the Switch 2, and here’s where you can pick it up at a cheap price.
10 years after the series’ last mainline entry, Fox McCloud is set for a big comeback with Star Fox on the Nintendo Switch 2.
The new game is a remake of 1997’s Lylat Wars (aka Star Fox 64) on the Nintendo 64, albeit with new designs for the anthropomorphic space crew, a new multiplayer mode, GameChat avatar functionality, and some additional challenges to encourage repeat runs.
Some might bemoan the fact it’s yet another remake, but following Fox’s appearance in The Super Mario Galaxy Movie, this is clearly designed to be a franchise reset, following years of misguided entries and spin-offs.
If you’re looking to pick up Star Fox when it launches on June 25, your best option is, as usual for Nintendo games, Currys. Thanks to a 10% discount if you pre-order before launch day, you can bag a physical copy for £40.49, which is almost £10 cheaper than the standard retail price of £49.99.

It’s also cheaper than the game’s digital price of £41.99, so it’s a good deal all round.
For those looking for the cheapest digital version, ShopTo is selling download codes for Star Fox at £39.85. Alternatively, you can pick up a physical copy from the same store, which comes with a free Star Fox-themed rubber patch, for £43.85.
The Nintendo Store has the best pre-order bonuses, between the rubber velcro patch and a pin set, but you’ll have to pay the full £49.99. At time of writing, all physical copies with these bonuses are currently sold out, but more stock could arrive in the run-up to (or after) launch.
