Josh Widdicombe has left many in shock after touching a hot stove while appearing on Saturday Kitchen.
The comedian, 41, is best known for appearing on shows including The Last Leg, Mock the Week and Taskmaster and hosts the Parenting Hell podcast with fellow comedian Rob Beckett. He will also appear on the upcoming Strictly Come Dancing Christmas Special.
Ahead of heading out on his latest stand-up tour, Josh appeared on the BBC cooking series this weekend.
Although the professional chefs had the responsibility of whipping up some delicious dishes for him and the rest of the panel, Josh’s attempts to play a more active role left him in trouble.
Standing up at the kitchen counter next to host Matt Tebbutt as he prepared fondue, Josh was chatting away when he decided to do something incredibly questionable.
Holding at a pot, Matt remarked ‘let’s not put that on right yet’ while looking at the fondue burner.

As he turned away, Josh leant forward and put his hand over the device, seemingly confused about what the chef had been referring to.
Pulling his hand back in shock, he exclaimed: ‘Oh hot!’
‘Oh yes watch that! Blue flame. You can’t see it,’ he warned.
He then urged viewers: ‘Don’t do that at home!’

Bursting into laughter, Josh quipped: ‘I feel like I’m back at school with a Bunsen burner.’
Matt then made a joke out of his near miss, questioning if he remembered where the flame usually was.
They then moved on, focusing on the cooking again.

During the episode Josh also spoke about the recent announcement that he’d signed up to the Strictly Come Dancing Christmas Special
‘I now feel like I am a dancer who occasionally does comedy. It’s been full on. The amount of exercise I am doing- I feel like a Premier League footballer,’ he joked.
‘Honestly, you could grate your feta on my abs if you want to!’ he later quipped.
Josh, who has been paired with dancer Karen Hauer, previously said he was ‘terrified’ the task ahead could end in ‘humiliation’ and he was worried he was ‘going to be so bad I will ruin Christmas for the nation’.
Saturday Kitchen airs weekly at 10am on BBC One.
