‘Summer House’ Star Amanda Batula Explains Absence Ahead of Season 10 Finale

Amanda Batula attends SiriusXM's Front Row Series with the cast of Bravo's 'Summer House' at SiriusXM Studios on January 27, 2026 in New York City

“Summer House” fans will notice something missing during one of the final weekends of season 10 — Amanda Batula. As the group returned to the Hamptons for the second-to-last weekend, Batula’s absence quickly became a major talking point among the cast. New details from the episode now reveal why the Bravo star chose not to attend.

Amanda Batula Explains ‘Summer House’ Absence

During Episode 12, her husband, Kyle Cooke, told the group he was unsure whether Batula would be joining them at all.

“Well, I just got off the phone with her, and I thought she was just gonna come out later tonight,” Cooke said. “And I don’t know if she’s gonna make it at all. … It is what it is. I don’t know. I was just like, ‘C’mon, like, second to last weekend…’”

When Ciara Miller arrived, she also asked about Batula’s whereabouts.

“Oh, she didn’t tell you? She kind of bailed,” Cooke said.

“I don’t really have a good answer,” he added. “She’s been on the struggle bus.”

Miller then called Batula directly to find out what was going on. During their FaceTime conversation, Batula explained her decision.

“I’m sorry. I just can’t do it,” Batula said. “The idea of, like, going out there is overwhelming me so much. I was like, I just need to, like, not go.”

She later elaborated in a confessional.

“Obviously, this summer, for Kyle and I, has been rough so far,” Batula said. “And I feel like it’s sort of catching up to me at this point. I’ve been showing up with a smile on my face every weekend and being, like, the joyful, bubbly Amanda, and trying to power through it all. And it’s to a point where, like, I can’t take it anymore, and I just need to be alone right now.”

As she told Miller, “I just need to, like, give myself some time.”

Kyle Cooke Reacts to Amanda Batula’s Absence

Cooke also addressed Batula’s absence in a preview for the episode, reflecting on how the weekend felt without her.

“Feeling a little more light-hearted, a little like myself — and it’s ‘cuz my wife’s nowhere to be seen,” he said. “That is a rude awakening. And it makes me realize just how effed we really are.”

Later, Cooke opened up to Ben Waddell in a conversation about the challenges in his relationship.

“Yo, real talk, I’m gonna level with you,” Cooke said. “I basically really felt bad the first couple of weeks. Just, I felt like you saw me at my worst.”

“I don’t think this is your worst,” Waddell replied. “Everyone goes through troubles with business and relationships.”

Throughout season 10, Cooke and Batula have been open about ongoing tension in their marriage. In the premiere, Cooke said, “Every summer, Amanda just makes me feel like I don’t exist. She just, like, doesn’t f–k with me.”

Batula also reflected on her expectations for married life.

“Once upon a time, I thought, like, you fall in love, and when you choose the person that you want to get married to, you’re happy,” she said. “I didn’t think (expletive) would be this hard in the first few years.”

The couple has also disagreed over Cooke’s DJ schedule and work commitments.

“Where do I fit in?” Batula asked during a previous episode.

Cooke defended his decision, saying, “I’m making money doing DJ gigs, but I’m also getting Loverboy into venues that normally charge.

‘Summer House’ Future and ‘In the City’ Spinoff Announced

As season 10 nears its finale, Bravo has already announced the next chapter for several cast members. The new spinoff “In the City,” featuring Batula, Cooke, and Lindsay Hubbard, is set to premiere May 19.

The debut will include a two-hour crossover with the “Summer House” season 10 finale. The series, filmed in New York City, will follow the next phase of their lives, including the end of Cooke and Batula’s marriage.

The trailer also shows tension between the former couple.

“We don’t have a pre-nup, but if you come for me, I’ll come for you,” Batula says.

“That would be a losing battle,” Cooke responds.

The preview also includes a moment between Batula and West Wilson, who confirmed their situationship in late March.
