<p id=”par-1_53″>Royal watchers have been abuzz following Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet’s recent <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/king-charles-gave-prince-harry-9-word-ultimatum-royal-reunion.html/”>meeting with their grandfather, King Charles III.</a> The pint-sized royals finally had a chance to spend some time with Prince Harry’s father during their family’s recent trip to the U.K. – their first return to the country as foursome since 2022. </p>
<p id=”par-2_39″>While the highly anticipated meeting with the King and Queen Camilla at Highgrove House made all the headlines, Harry was apparently keen to make sure his two young children also connected with the other side of his family’s heritage. </p>

<p id=”par-3_66″>On Thursday, Meghan Markle shared a slideshow of photos on her <a href=”https://www.instagram.com/p/DbJaOoegacm/?hl=en&img_index=3″ target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>Instagram</a>. “Summer Holiday,” she captioned the post, which includes snaps of Harry and Meghan laughing over a meal, Harry playing in the pool with Lilibet, and Harry, Meghan, and Archie at the beach. The Duchess of Sussex also included an image of Harry and their two children walking down a grassy lawn lined with trees. </p>
<p id=”par-4_55″>While Meghan didn’t share where exactly the photo was taken, the trio appear to have been at Althorp, the family estate of Harry’s mother, Princess Diana. That assumption was reinforced by the fact that Harry and Archie are carrying bouquet of flowers, leading to speculation that they were on the way to visit Diana’s gravesite. </p>
<p id=”par-5_62″>The late <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/prince-william-kate-ever-taken-kids-princess-dianas-grave.html/”>Princess of Wales is buried</a> on a secluded island in the middle of Oval Lake on the Spencer family’s longtime home. The location, which is only accessible via boat, was chosen specifically for its privacy. The grave is not open to members of the public, who are instead allowed to pay their respects at a memorial temple on Althorp’s grounds.</p>
<p id=”par-6_55″>Althorp is typically open to visitors in the summer months. But notably, the house and the grounds were closed on July 10 and 11. Those dates coincided with the Sussex family’s visit to the U.K. According to <a href=”https://people.com/meghan-markle-shares-photo-prince-archie-princess-lilibet-princess-dianas-childhood-home-uk-visit-12025667″ target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>People</a>, Megan, Harry, and their children stayed at Althorp as guests of Harry’s uncle, Charles, 9th Earl Spencer.</p>

Not only is it his beloved mother’s final resting place, but it’s also where she lived during her teenage years, before her marriage to Prince Charles. In his memoir <em>Spare, </em>Harry spoke about visiting Diana’s grave on the 25th anniversary of her death in 2022, with Meghan by his side. </p>
<p id=”par-8_34″>In the book Harry recalled gazing “around at Althorp’s rolling fields and ancient trees, the thousands of green acres where my mother grew up, and where, though things weren’t perfect, she’d known some peace.”</p>
<p id=”par-9_17″> “At long last,” he added. “I was bringing the girl of my dreams home to meet mum.”</p>
<p id=”par-10_10″>Meanwhile, Harry believes his mother lives on his own children. </p>
