Sydney Sweeney is officially singleâand sheâs not mad about it. In a new interview with The Times, the âEuphoriaâ star finally put an end to the speculations and confirmed that her engagement to fiancé Jonathan Davino is over.
When asked if sheâs planning a wedding, she replied with a straight âNo.â And when asked if sheâs single? âYes,â she said, adding, âIâm learning a lot about myself, spending more time with my friends. And Iâm loving it.â
Sydney Is All About Her âWorkâ Right Now
In March, a source told PEOPLE that things had been rocky between the two for a while. The relationship, though full of love, wasnât working anymore. âShe didnât feel right about it,â the insider shared, explaining that wedding plans became overwhelming. Instead, Sydney has thrown herself into work and is thriving. “She’s exactly where she wants to be,” the source added. âSheâs all about working right now and very excited about all her projects.â
Whatâs Next for Sydney?
Sydney isnât slowing down anytime soon. Sheâs currently working on the next season of “Euphoria“, plus starring in major rolesâincluding real-life boxer Christy Martin and classic Hollywood icon Kim Novak. Sheâs also set to lead the film adaptation of “The Housemaid”.
As for love? She’s keeping that part of her life private. âI think itâs important to have something for me,â she told Glamour UK last year. And when it comes to future partners, Sydneyâs got a type: “I look for a best friend⦠someone I can literally hang out with 24/7 and never get sick of.” For now, sheâs single, focused, and loving every minute.
While Sydney keeps her private life low-key, fans havenât stopped talking. Her sizzling chemistry with “Anyone But You co-star Glen Powellâand their flirty press tourâhas fueled nonstop romance rumors.
They sparked dating rumors in 2023, primarily as Sweeney was engaged at the time. The duo reunited recently at Powellâs sisterâs wedding in Texas.
Powell confirmed that Sweeney attended the wedding and called it âa hell of a weekend.” In an exclusive conversation with Today, Glen said Sydney and his sister are âgreat friends.â The reunion stirred fans again. Still, Sweeney has since shut down the rumors, saying during her SNL monologue in March 2024, âThatâs obviously not true. Me and my fiancé produced the movie together and he was there the entire shoot.â
Despite the speculation, both have maintained that their relationship was always professional and friendly, just terrific chemistry for the cameras.
