Sydney Sweeney Stuns Fans With Incredible Body Transformation for New Boxing Role

When Sydney Sweeney throws a punch, she means it!

The Emmy-nominated actress, best known for her role in “Euphoria,“ has officially stepped into the ring, literally. For her upcoming biopic about legendary boxer Christy Martin, Sweeney had to undergo one of the most jaw-dropping transformations we’ve seen in years. But to her, it wasn’t just for show; rather, it was raw, rigorous, and real.

“My body was completely different,” Sweeney told W Magazine in June. “But it was amazing: I was so strong, like crazy strong.”

The Intense Physical Shift for Christy Martin

This wasn’t a subtle Hollywood “get toned” moment. Sweeney revealed that she fully intended on going full throttle. To embody Martin, the trailblazing 90s boxing icon and the first woman inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame, Sweeney trained for hours a day and packed on over 30 pounds of solid muscle.

“I weight-trained in the morning for an hour, kickboxed midday for about two hours, and then weight-trained again at night for an hour,” she said. “I started eating.”

The “Anyone But You” actress admitted her body changed dramatically in just a few months. She went from a size 23 in jeans to a size 27. “My boobs got bigger. And my butt got huge. It was crazy! I was like, ‘Oh my God,’” she laughed in the W interview.

The physical toll came with a wardrobe overhaul. Apparently none of her clothes fit, but it also came with a new kind of empowerment. “I loved it,” she said. “I was so strong, like crazy strong.”

Director David Michôd confirmed her commitment, saying, she “trained her butt off to play the part. The beauty of Sydney is that she turned up to work every day with her tail wagging, ready to go. No matter how tough it was, she was like a ray of sunshine.”

She even sported a full-on ‘90s mullet, complete with brown contact lenses to match Martin’s look. Can you say method with muscles?

Sydney Sweeney’s Sporty Side Isn’t New

While fans were stunned by the transformation, the physicality wasn’t out of left field. Sweeney’s childhood was practically a training montage.

“I love being outside,” she shared. “I was on the ski team, and I wakeboarded. I slalom ski on water. I was on the soccer team and the softball team. And then my parents got me into grappling, which is like wrestling, and kickboxing.”

She wasn’t just dabbling either, rather she was serious about her sports. “I was the only girl at the dojo,” Sweeney said. “I trained there from 13 until about 19. I fought all guys. I liked to think that if s— went down, I might be able to step up.”

And step up, she did.

Just seven weeks after wrapping the boxing film, she had to shed all the weight she’d put on to start filming Season 3 of “Euphoria.” Talk about whiplash.

Her transformation was so insane that even Michôd was floored when he saw her post-boxing look. “I was stunned by the change in her appearance,” he told W. “Sydney was happiest when she was in the ring… It was shocking to see her being so glamorous.”

What’s Next for Sydney Sweeney?

Sweeney’s not slowing down. She’s been keeping fans guessing, and of course cheering, with new projects. This includes “The Housemaid” and an upcoming third season of “Euphoria,” with Zendaya. But, perhaps most buzzworthy? Her latest business venture. Recently, she announced a brand-new soap line. Yes, soap. Because even boxers need to clean up, duh!

And in case you were wondering about her relationship status, the actress just confirmed she is indeed single. No ring, no rebound, no problem.

As she told W Magazine, “I’m happiest when I have a million things going on.”

From the ring to red carpets, Sweeney is delivering knockout after knockout, and we’re all here for the show.
