After a standout 20th season of Taskmaster, the neck-and-neck race has come to an end with one comedian crowned the winner.
The latest episodes saw five comics – Ania Magliano, Maisie Adam, Phil Ellis, Reece Shearsmith, and Sanjeev Bhaskar – pitted against each other to tackle increasingly absurd tasks.
All trustily judged by the titular Taskmaster Greg Davies and overseen by his plucky little sidekick… Little Alex Horne.
After rave reviews for the last season of the show earlier this year, viewers have been locked into the return of the popular Channel 4 series that has unearthed some truly classic moments.
From Sanjeev’s recurring urine to snakes and ladder purgatory to Ania confirming once and for all she is, in fact, Greg’s 100% biological daughter – this season has gone down in Taskmaster history.
After a final episode, dressed as pirates, the funny cohort had to make identical drinks with a gutting last twist, drinking apple juice without touching the mug, and some water-squirting.
Normally, at this point in the show, there’s a pretty clear idea who is gonna come out victorious, but heading into the finale as all five were in with a shot, making the outcome a truly nail-biting experience. So who won?
The show drew to a close with the narrowest final in 10 years, ending in a three-way tie between Phil, Maisie and Ania.Truly unprecedented scenes!
The tiebreak question asked the contestants how many letter Ts there are in the portrait of me and Greg in the living room.
In the end, Maisie just about swooped to victory with her guess of five Ts (it was four, for those wondering).
Following behind was Reece with 148 points, and last, but certainly not least, Sanjeev with 143 points.
Fans loved the finale and took to social media to say as much.
‘THIS WAS THE MOST EXCITING FINALE EVER OMG. A THREE WAY TIE????????? #taskmaster,’ said actuallymrjelly on X.
‘INSANE TASKMASTER FINAL,’ said arcticferns.
