It’s been five days since Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce tied the knot at Madison Square Garden, and it’s still all the internet can talk about.
From the couple’s 1,000-strong guest list — which included a controversial ICE contractor — to the eye-watering $20 million price tag, the wedding has received more attention than when the royals have said ‘I do’.
And, as Swifties (along with the rest of the world) wait with bated breath to see the first photos of the newlyweds, some of Taylor’s famous friends are causing their own controversy surrounding the nuptials.
First, it was Eras Tour dancer Tori Evans, who was accused of wearing white to the wedding.
However, she has since claimed her dress was a pink champagne colour, and has been backed up by her husband TJ Shaw on Instagram, who shut down trolls, telling them that they don’t ‘understand lighting.’
But the latest celebrity pal to come under fire is none other than Gracie Abrams, who also served as Taylor’s support act during the North American leg of the record-breaking Eras Tour.
Taking to Instagram to share a carousel of ‘life lately’ moments that just so happen to feature the sparkly red look she had for Taylor’s wedding, Gracie also shared an unrelated photo from the 2018 film, The Favourite.
For those unaware, the period dark comedy art film stars Joe Alwyn, Taylor’s ex and partner of six years, who was featured in the image.
The same man who inspired a string of Taylor’s most successful albums, including 2019’s Lover, 2020’s sister albums, Folklore and Evermore, and most importantly, 2024’s breakup album, The Tortured Poets Department.
Fans immediately took to the comment section to question why Gracie would include a picture of her friend’s ex in the same post that was partly dedicated to Taylor’s wedding to another man.
‘The screen capture of Joe Alwyn from The Favourite in the same carousel as the outfit you wore to Taylor Swift’s wedding is crazyyyyy (I say this with love)’ one person penned as another echoed: ‘Not congratulating Taylor – but posting her ex?’
‘Why would you include a photo of Joe?’ another asked, while someone else brutally said: ‘Weird for this one babes.’
Meanwhile, a different Swiftie argued ‘this feels disrespectful to Taylor,’ as a sixth questioned: ‘I’m sorry are you for real? Including a photo of Joe in the same photo dump as taylor’s wedding? Couldn’t you at least congratulate taylor and travis on the post?’
Sleuths then doubled down on the post, claiming that Joe had actually liked it, knowing full well that some photos were linked to his former partner’s marriage.
‘Joe liking this post knowing that the first pic was Gracie’s outfit was from Taylor’s wedding… the lore,’ they joked, as another simply said that ‘Gracie is funny’ for this.
Of course, fans will also know that The Favourite starred Emma Stone, who is one of Taylor’s closest friends. The film photo Gracie chose for the carousel included the Oscar winner, alongside Joe.
Taylor and Emma, 37, go way back, first meeting at the Young Hollywood Awards in Los Angeles in April 2008.
Having connected as teenagers, Emma has previously spoken about how supportive Taylor has been as a friend, even helping her secure tickets to the Eras Tour.
Emma was photographed at the wedding on Friday, wearing what appeared to be either a strapless or a one-shoulder gown.
The Bugonia star wore her hair in an elegant low bun, with loose, face-framing bangs. She accessorised with black drop earrings.
As for Taylor and Travis, it’s been confirmed that their ceremony looks were created by Christian Dior Haute Couture.
A statement also read that ‘their shoes were custom-made by Christian Louboutin and the bride wore Cartier jewellery’ — a brand that Taylor famously loves and referenced in her 2025 The Life of a Showgirl track, Elizabeth Taylor.
