The 10 most-watched Netflix films as chart-topper racks up 10,400,000 views

It’s finally stopped raining but it’s still not quite time to break out the barbecue or head to the nearest beer garden just yet. So if you’re searching around for what to stick on in the evenings (they are getting lighter, promise!) Netflix has released its weekly global most-watched chart – and it’s a bit of a mixed bag with something for everyone. In this edition there is everything from a Mexican drama to a Tyler Perry flick, and a few animated films thrown in if you need something family friendly. 10. Fall – 3,600,000

Fall is jumping up the rankings on Netflix, and you’re going to want to sit down for this one. It’s a survival psychological thriller film directed by Scott Mann. The film follows two women who become stranded atop a 2,000-foot radio tower, only to find themselves stranded when a ladder falls away below them. 9. State of Fear – 4,700,000

A big drop from last week’s runner-up spot, the Brazilian thriller which landed on the platform earlier in the month is still proving popular. It’s actually a spin-off of the 2019 Netflix crime series Brotherhood and is set in Sao Paolo where gang members face a crisis as key members are transferred to a maximum security prison. So, it’s definitely an intense watch, but if you enjoyed the original series, why not give this a go? (Picture: Netflix)

The Addams Family have been busy this week; not only did Wednesday Season 3 get a new casting update (yes THE Winona Ryder is joining the cast) but the animated sequel in the franchise, which actually came out in 2021, has flown up into the charts having recently found a new home on Netflix. 7. The Orphans – 5,300,000

If animated films aren’t for you, why not try this action-adventure? Two orphans and childhood friends Gabriel and Idriss have taken different paths – one is a police inspector and the other has joined organised crime. Awkward. The pair must overcome their differences when their old flame dies in a suspicious car accident, and of course there’s lots of action, stunts and guns along the way.

6. The Addams Family – 5,300,000

No, you’re not being haunted – that really is another Addams Family animated movie on this list. It makes sense you’re going to want to watch this one first, and with a stellar cast – including Oscar Isaac, Charlize Theron, Chloë Grace Moretz, Finn Wolfhard and even Snoop Dogg – why not give this a try? 5. KPop Demon Hunters – 6,000,000

Maybe now you’re being haunted. Last week, KPop Demon Hunters fell out of the top five. No, really. It had dominated the charts for a huge 35 weeks – and it appears that its fall from grace really was just a blip, because the film is right back in that top five spot raking in a further six million views. Just in case you still haven’t seen it, the film follows fictional K-pop band Huntr/x, who, by day, sell out stadiums and perform in front of their millions of fans like the superstars they are. However, it is all a front as by night…well, they hunt demons. Which is rather handy when a strange new (dare we say, demon-ish?) boyband appears on the scene… (Picture: Netflix)

Firebreak is a Spanish thriller where a family live in the middle of a forest – and a wildfire is coming. Worse, their little girl is lost, ash is falling like snow and her mother must race to find her before the flames do. Admittedly, it has had mixed reviews, but people are definitely tuning in, so if you’re after a nail-biter, why not consider this? (Picture: Netflix/Niete)

Yes, that Prometheus. From fourteen years ago. It clearly has staying power. It sees scientists travel to a distant world in search of answers to humanity’s origins. Maybe the resurgence in popularity is down to the renewed interest in the Alien franchise post Alien: Romulus, or maybe we’re all feeling the need for an escapist movie to sink our teeth into? This Mexican drama is still picking up some serious views after being released a few weeks ago, and is one you might want to try if you’re after something earnest. The film is about a devoted father with a neurological disability who is wrongly accused of a crime he didn’t commit and is shipped off to a secret, hidden prison. For a second week running, this next installment in the popular Madea franchise finds itself on top of the streaming world. This comedy focuses on Madea’s cantankerous brother Joe, who takes a road trip to drop his college-bound grandson off in a bid to teach him about the real world.
