Former Vice President Dick Cheney has died. The news of his passing was announced on Tuesday morning, November 4. He was 84. Cheney’s death was announced in a statement, which highlighted the special bond he shared with his family. This is the family he leaves behind.

Cheney’s death was announced in a statement made by the family. It was revealed that he passed away “due to complications of pneumonia and cardiac and vascular disease,” the New York Post reports. “His beloved wife of 61 years, Lynne, his daughters, Liz and Mary, and other family members were with him as he passed.” 

The statement continues, “Dick Cheney was a great and good man who taught his children and grandchildren to love our country, and to live lives of courage, honor, love, kindness, and fly fishing. We are grateful beyond measure for all Dick Cheney did for our country. And we are blessed beyond measure to have loved and been loved by this noble giant of a man.”

While Cheney was a politician who served under both former President Nixon and former President George W Bush, he was also a beloved family man.
