The Family Julian McMahon Left Behind

Julian McMahon

While fans around the world remember the late Julian McMahon for his iconic roles on screen, his family is mourning the man behind the fame.

McMahon, known for his roles in “Nip/Tuck,” “Charmed,” and “Fantastic Four,” passed away on July 2 following a private battle with cancer. He was 56.

In a statement shared with Deadline, the actor’s wife, Kelly McMahon, offered fans a heartfelt glimpse into the man he was beyond the spotlight.

“Julian loved life. He loved his family. He loved his friends. He loved his work, and he loved his fans,” she added. “His deepest wish was to bring joy into as many lives as possible.”

McMahon leaves behind a loving family, who are now asking for support to grieve their loss privately.

Prior to his current marriage, McMahon had been married twice. His first wife was Australian singer-actress Dannii Minogue, whom he married on January 2, 1994. They got divorced in August 1995.

Then, on December 22, 1999, he married actress Brooke Burns, but they eventually divorced in 2001. They share a daughter, Madison Elizabeth McMahon.

McMahon married his third wife, Kelly Paniagua, in June 2014 after more than a decade of dating. He proposed during a memorable trip to Melbourne in 2013, and a year later, the couple tied the knot in an intimate ceremony at Lake Tahoe, per Mamamia.

Kelly, who has kept their personal life largely out of the public eye, stayed by the actor’s side throughout his final battle with cancer.

Julian McMahon’s Lookalike Daughter

McMahon is also survived by his only daughter, Madison Elizabeth McMahon, whom he shared with his ex-wife, actress Brooke Burns.

Madison was born in 2000, a year before her parents finalized their divorce. The father and daughter rarely spoke about each other publicly, but they appeared to have a very loving relationship.

McMahon’s daughter, who is now 25 years old, is a yoga enthusiast, teaching yoga classes at Ahanā Miami Yoga Studio. She also appeared to be a nature lover, as seen on her social media posts.

He Was the Son of a Prime Minister

McMahon was the only son of Sir William McMahon and Lady Sonia McMahon. His father served as the 20th Prime Minister of Australia from March 1971 to December 1972.

Meanwhile, his mother was a celebrated socialite and philanthropist in Australia. Though the actor forged a life and career far from the political spotlight, he’s known to be proud of his heritage and spoke highly of his parents’ influence on his character.

Interestingly, McMahon played the role of an Australian prime minister in Netflix’s “The Residence.”
