Guz Khan’s new BBC Christmas special has already wooed fans with its heartwarming storyline chock full of festive chaos.
The one-hour episode starring Man Like Mobeen’s Guz follows the Farooqis, ‘a mixed-faith family who end up going to Lapland for a Christmas they will never forget.’
Guz plays dad Arslan, a practising Muslim who receives an unexpected bonus at work and spends every penny on the ‘holiday of a lifetime’ for his family before discovering it was all a big mistake.
As the synopsis concludes: ‘What follows is one man’s mission to save a Christmas he doesn’t believe in while ideally not losing his job, his family and everything he has ever worked for. And surprise, surprise, it doesn’t go too smoothly.’
As part of the BBC iPlayer festive line-up this year, some fans have already tuned into the special and had glowing words so far.
Also starring Morgana Robinson as Arslan’s wife, Hannah, on X user beffy, wrote: ‘Absolutely loved Stuffed on BBC iPlayer with my fave man Gux Khan, him and Morgana are a dream team working together.’
Jo dubbed it ‘daft, formulaic and easy to watch’
Saffron praised the unexpected layers to the story, sharing: ‘Didn’t expect it to make me emotional, but grief is hard to say the least! Especially during a big occasion such as Christmas. It’s v fun though as well ofc.’
Joanne Grange added: ‘If you’ve not watched it yet, try Stuffed on the iPlayer. Brilliant new addition to the Christmas film list. Guz Khan is brilliant.’
Meanwhile, publications like Digital Spy hailed it a ‘hidden gem’ while the Guardian called it a ‘Christmas caper’ to add to your Christmas week watchlist.
Although plenty of the filming happened ‘off a roundabout in Reading,’ Guz joked to The Guardian: ‘When we did go to Lapland, I realised that somewhere deep down within me, my genetics were warning me about going to a country so cold. It’s everything you can imagine: really beautiful, lovely people.
Why I’ll be making my parents tune in to Stuffed this Christmas
Metro’s Senior TV Reporter, Asyia Iftikhar, shares her excitement for Stuffed.
Growing up in a Muslim family, there was always a strange pull and push between joining in the festivities and doing our own thing. A hybrid Yuletide and an excuse to get the family together.
I knew Santa wasn’t real from the get-go, but I truly shone as a Shepherd in the school Nativity.
So, having a show that encapsulates the weird and wonderful experience of a cross-cultural Christmas, infused with relatable jokes and festive fun, sounds like the perfect December watch.
I know I’ll be dragging my parents in front of the TV this evening to see how the Man Like Mobeen star brings his own perspective to life on screen.
Frankly, you can’t go far wrong with a low-stakes Christmas comedy that has plenty of heart. So, the perfect combo for family-friendly viewing.

No thanks
‘But my brown arse will never enter that place ever again. Unless the sequel is changed to somewhere warm with a beautiful beach, I’m out.’
He also acknowledged the representation this offers for interfaith families in the UK during Christmas, where one half celebrate,s and the other does not, something not often portrayed on TV.
‘It’s a really interesting dynamic. They just live a normal life. There’s nothing aggy, nothing stressful. It’s all the stuff that any couple would go through,’ he added.
Stuffed is now streaming on BBC iPlayer. It is airing on BBC One tonight at 9pm.
