Some of the key cast involved in âNational Lampoon’s Christmas Vacationâ have reunited, sharing a photograph of them together online. The 1989 release, written by John Hughes and directed by Jeremiah S. Chechik, is widely regarded as a classic Christmas movie and a staple of the holiday season.
Juliette Lewis Shares Reunion Picture
Juliette Lewis posted the image on Instagram to her personal account, which features Chevy Chase sitting on a chair, while Beverly DâAngelo, Randy Quaid, and Lewis all stand around him posing for the camera. It isnât clear from the post when the photograph was taken.
She accompanied the image with a holiday message, calling the rest of the cast her family. She said, âMerry Christmas from the Griswolds! Love my movie family.â
âNational Lampoon’s Christmas Vacationâ marked the final time that Hughes worked on a âNational Lampoonâ project and tells the story of Chaseâs character Clark Griswold as his attempts to have a normal family Christmas keep going awry. Chase, Quaid, and D’Angelo reprised their roles from previous movies, while Lewis replaced Dana Barron and Dana Hill in the role of the Griswoldâs daughter Audrey.
Some of the Cast Has Previously Teamed Up For Other Christmas Movies
This is not the first time that the cast of âNational Lampoonâs Christmas Vacationâ have reunited. Both Chase and Quaid worked together on the 2024 film âThe Christmas Letter.â They were joined by Hallmark star Kristoffer Polaha alongside Brian Doyle-Murray.
Polaha had previously shared photographs of him attending a convention in New York City, where he grabbed photographs with both CHase and Quaid.
âLast week was a whirlwind,â he exclaimed. âNew York City was amazing and seeing all your shining faces was truly a joy for me. I love meeting you, hearing your stories, hugging your necks, and capturing a moment with you. Even I wanted my picture taken with a few actors whose work has impacted my life. Iâll see you next year!â
Chevy Chase Documentary On Course for 2026
Earlier this year it was also revealed that a new documentary about Chevy Chase is on the way and should release in 2026. âIâm Chevy Chase and Youâre Notâ is directed by Marina Zenovich and is set to arrive on Sky Documentaries next year. Zenovich has previously won awards for the documentaries âRichard Pryor: Omit the Logicâ and âRobin Williams: Come Inside My Mind.â
Howard T. Owens, co-CEO of Propagate Content, released a statement about the film. He said, âWeâre thrilled to have Sky join the exceptional team behind this definitive portrait of Chevy Chase.â
Owens continued, âChevy is a complicated comedy legend, and Marinaâs unflinching approach captures that in a way only she can. Skyâs commitment to bold, truth-driven storytelling makes them the ideal partner to help bring this story to audiences worldwide.â
