HBO Max is home to several hit shows, including “The Pitt,” which premiered in 2025 and quickly became a viewership juggernaut. Now, amid the show’s second season, it has been announced that the finale for the Noah Wyle-led series will play in select movie theaters for healthcare workers.
According to Deadline, HBO Max and Alamo Drafthouse have teamed up for the movie theater chain to host advanced screenings of the finale of season two of “The Pitt.”
The Theater Screenings Of ‘The Pitt’ Are a Tribute to Healthcare Workers
Per Deadline, the finale for “The Pitt” season two will play in 10 Alamo Drafthouse movie theaters on April 13. Notably, this is three days before the episode will premiere on HBO Max. The advanced screenings are intended to honor medical professionals.
To attend, healthcare professionals can reserve a free ticket to one of the 10 locations by purchasing a $10 food and beverage voucher. The attendees will also be treated to
“Pitt” themed giveaways. This includes those who are actively working in the healthcare industry and those who are retired.
The advanced screenings for “The Pitt” finale include New York City, NY; Boston, MA; Raleigh, NC; Naples, FL; Dallas, TX; Austin, TX; Denver, CO; San Francisco, CA; Twin Cities, MN; and Los Angeles, CA.
Season 2 of Noah Wyle-Led Show is a Hit
Season two of “The Pitt” premiered on HBO Max in January 2026. There was considerable pressure for the show to not only exceed season one in quality but also in popularity. Luckily, it did so in both metrics.
According to Deadline, the show’s premiere saw viewership increase by 200% from the first season. Per the outlet, it drew 5.4 million viewers during its first three days on the platform. As of January 15, the episode had been watched by about 7.2 million people.
Regarding reviews, season two of “The Pitt” has an impressive 99% rating on Rotten Tomatoes from critics. Audiences have given the season an 82%. This is based on over 150 reviews from critics and more than 250 from viewers.
In additon to Wyle, “The Pitt” stars Katherine LaNasa, Fiona Dourif, Patrick Ball, Taylor Dearden, Shawn Hatosy, and more. The series has also scored big at the major award shows, including five Emmy awards in 2025, two Golden Globes, and multiple Critics’ Choice Awards.
As for the show’s future, it has been renewed for a third season.
