<p id=”par-2_52″>The streamer has ordered 20 new episodes of the hit reality series, according to a new report from <a href=”https://deadline.com/2026/08/the-secret-lives-of-mormon-wives-renewed-hulu-season-6-1237027806/”><u>Deadline</u></a>. Those new episodes will make up seasons 6 and 7 of the show, which follows a group of TikTok influencer moms in Salt Lake City. Filming has already begun on the new episodes. </p>

<p id=”par-3_39″>The renewal news comes as <em>SLOMW </em>has been grappling with major behind-the-scenes drama. Production on the yet-to-air season 5 was halted earlier this year following a domestic incident between cast member <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/taylor-frankie-pauls-custody-drama-continues-dcfs-asks-for-oversight.html/”>Taylor Frankie Paul</a> and her ex, Dakota Mortensen. </p>
<p id=”par-4_23″>Filming eventually resumed on the show, but without Paul. The upcoming fifth season will have just five episodes, rather than the usual 10.</p>
<p id=”par-5_20″>During an appearance on the August 5 episode of Hulu’s <a target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener” href=”https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZAXXXSkXZpY”><em><u>Get Real</u></em></a> podcast, Laya Taylor spoke about the show’s future. </p>
<p id=”par-6_16″>“We’re not done with season 5, and we’re filming for season 6 right now,” she shared. </p>
<p id=”par-7_15″>The production schedule this year has been exhausting, Taylor added. But it was also necessary. </p>
<p id=”par-8_56″>“It’s so hard. We have this battle that we — all of us girls talk about,” she said. “When we’re not filming, I miss it. And I honestly get kind of bored and so much happens too conveniently when the cameras go down. So, it’s like at this point, just let’s just film the whole year.”</p>

<p id=”par-10_45″>Paul and Mortensen, who share a son, Ever, have had a tumultuous relationship. In 2023, she pleaded guilty to aggravated assault related to another incident with Mortensen. When footage of that fight leaked to the media, her upcoming season of <em>The Bachelorette </em>was promptly canceled. </p>
<p id=”par-11_56″>While Paul was not fired from <em>SLOMW, </em>she’ll have a very limited role in the truncated season 5, according to <a href=”https://people.com/taylor-frankie-paul-filming-for-secret-lives-of-mormon-wives-season-5-12015386″ target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”><u>People</u></a>. However, she has <a href=”https://www.instagram.com/p/DarZBeFFDbq/?hl=en&img_index=1″ target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”><u>said on social media</u></a> that she will appear in <em>The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives </em>Season 6. Meanwhile, one original cast member won’t be back. Whitney Leavitt has confirmed she’s leaving the show.</p>
