Looking for more horror films to watch over Halloween? Try this secret trick (Picture: Yulia Ogneva)
Halloween is almost upon us and plenty of film fans will be getting in the holiday spirit with horror movie marathons.
Whether you want to be soaked in gore, or chilled to your bones – there’s something for every fan to enjoy, both new and old.
Right now in cinemas, you can go and see record-breaking slasher Terrifier 3, supernatural smash hit Smile 2, and Demi Moore-starring body horror The Substance.
But if you don’t want to leave the comfort of your sofa – or your pillows to hide behind – this handy Netflix hack will revolutionise your next film night.
It has previously been revealed there are thousands of secret codes you can search on the Netflix app to uncover hidden films.
And if you type ‘8711’ into the search bar, you can see a treasure trove of horror titles to haunt your nightmares.
On the UK site, the first titles to appear include Parker Finn’s original Smile, Scott Derickson’s 2012 classic Sinister, and this year’s acclaimed Talk To Me from Danny and Michael Phillippou.

You can enjoy everything from meta slasher classic Scream, to British horror Baghead released earlier this year.
Netflix-Codes.com shows there are 12 additional codes associated with horror films if you are after a specific vibe this spooky season.
If you want to sink your teeth into a vampire film, search 75804 where you’ll be treated to the likes of gothic horror Dracula.
For zombie films such as The Crazies, Hot Fuzz, and Cargo, type in 7504, or if you want to explore the world of the supernatural, search 42023.
To take a trip outside of the UK and to watch a wealth of foreign horror movies, 8654 is your ticket out of here.

Horror fans have been left gobsmacked by the revelation, but many simply asked why this ‘wasn’t advertised’ so more people knew about it.
Others pointed out that the method isn’t foolproof, and it does bring up some films that are, arguably, definitely not horror – or maybe they are? Depends on who you ask.
‘Yeah, I think Netflix is trolling me. I mean I found a Taylor Swift documentary and Bridgerton. I’m not a fan but it’s no reason to call it horror,’ Myrenarde wrote on Reddit.
GodTierMacho added: ‘I just used this and “save the last dance” was included. Someone at Netflix HQ is afraid of love.’
Doth_not_ganja asked ‘why is Mr Bean on there?’ while Tommykiddo said they saw bizarre animated comedy Sausage Party on their list.
If you dare to use these codes – happy scrolling! Sleep tight, and don’t let the monsters under the bed bite.
