It’s that time of the week again when we get to find out which movies have been lighting up the Netflix most-watched charts. And there hasn’t been a huge amount of change, with some familiar features and recent newcomers continuing to dominate the charts – along with a tense original from Taiwan making its debut. There’s a decent sprinkling of cinema blockbusters too, including one which has slammed all the way into the top five. But can anything finally see off the KPop Demon Hunters, or can they manage yet another week in pole position? Here’s your big chart countdown… (Picture: Daniel McFadden)

10. Man On Fire – 3,100,000 views

First up, we have this 2004 action thriller, one of five which the late Tony ‘brother of Ridley’ Scott made with Denzel Washington. Man On Fire features the Oscar winner as a mostly washed-up former CIA type who takes an easy job as a driver/bodyguard for the family of a dodgy businessman in Mexico City – forming an unlikely bond with his employer’s young daughter (Dakota Fanning). When she is kidnapped, he goes to extreme lengths to try and get her back (Picture: 20th Century Studios)

9. Dog Man – 3,300,000 views

The first of this week’s new entries is an animated adventure which comes to us courtesy of DreamWorks Animation. Based on the children’s graphic novel series by Dav Pilkey (the brains behind Captain Underpants), it sees the titular Dog Man – who is created after a policeman and his dog are fused together – taking on feline villain Petey the Cat, who’s on a mission to clone himself and create an evil kitten. The grown-ups might want to give this one a wide berth, but younger viewers will think it’s paw-some (Picture: DreamWorks Animation)

8. The Wrong Paris – 3,600,000 views

The Wrong Paris is now moving in the wrong direction as it makes its way slowly down the chart. This romcom – described as ‘unhinged’ and ‘brilliant’ in Metro’s review – stars
Miranda Cosgrove as a woman who, in need of money to join an art training course in Paris, France, enters a Bachelor-style dating show she thinks is set there. Except it’s actually set in Paris, Texas. Oops. Hilarity ensues as she tries to get eliminated, only for the bachelor in question to take a shine to her… (Picture: Netflix)

7. Organ Child – 3,400,000 views

The next new entry this week is a tense thriller from Taiwan, which follows some pretty standard revenge tropes but is no less watchable for it. Organ Child centres on Chang Chi-Mao (Hsiao-chuan Chang), a former baseball coach who spends years in prison for a crime he didn’t commit. After he’s released he has just one thing on his mind – hunting down and getting revenge on the crime syndicate who kidnapped and trafficked his baby daughter. With the sort of violent, high-octane consequences you can well imagine (Picture: Netflix)

6. Godzilla v Kong: The New Empire – 3,800,000

Next up, we have this 2024 action blockbuster, the perfect choice for anyone who can’t decide whether they want to watch a Godzilla flick or a King Kong movie on a wet Wednesday evening. The movie – the follow-up to 2021’s Godzilla vs Kong – sees the two legendary movie monsters facing a threat which challenges their very existence, and that of the planet. Although you may well find the story takes a back seat to the stunning visual effects and the sight of two infamous monsters battling it out on screen (Picture: Warner Bros)

5. Karate Kid: Legends – 3,900,000 views

Netflix is no stranger to the world of Karate Kid – its hugely popular series Cobra Kai is, after all, a small screen sequel to the original film series – so it’s no surprise to see this 2025 movie making its presence known in the top five. Ralph Macchio reprises his role as Daniel LaRusso, joining forces with Jackie Chan as Mr Han, as they train a new prodigy (Ben Wang) in the art of karate. It’s familiar territory but if you love the Karate Kid you won’t want to miss this (Picture: Sony Pictures/Jonathan Wenk)

4. Mantis – 6,800,000 views

South Korea has had no shortage of Netflix hits this year – and here’s the latest, the tale of adeadly assassin, Jae-yi (Park Gyu-young) who’s pulled back into the life she once tried to escape. When a powerful syndicate frames her for a string of killings, she must uncover the conspiracy while fending off rival hitmen, including her former partner, played by Yim Si-wan. Expect sleek action, cat-and-mouse thrills and a very satisfying final act (Picture: Netflix/ Everett/Shutterstock)

3. French Lover – 12,300,000 views

Sitting pretty in the top three is this romantic comedy-drama set in Paris – the actual capital of France one this time – with Omar Sy as a movie star who collides with a down-on-her-luck waitress (Sara Giraudeau). As she attempts to piece her life back together, the pair’s chance encounter becomes something more – but will the glare of the spotlight tear them apart? Think Notting Hill but with the roles reversed and you should get the idea (Picture: Emmanuel Guimier/Netflix)

2. Ruth and Boaz – 14,000,000 views

In any other week the huge number of views notched up by romantic drama Ruth and Boaz would be more than enough to see it in the number one slot. But, clearly, this is not any other week – and so the movie has had to settle for a second week in the runner-up position. A modern-day reworking of a biblical legend, it sees Serayah take the lead as Ruth, a rising hip-hop artist who leaves Atlanta’s music scene after tragedy to care for elderly widow Naomi (Phylicia Rashad). There she meets Boaz, a wealthy winery owner and former Marine played by Tyler Lepley. And you can probably guess where it all leads (Picture: Parrish Lewis/Perry Well Films 2/Netflix)

1. KPop Demon Hunters – 18,100,000 views

Is there actually anybody left in the Netflix viewing world who hasn’t seen this yet? The giant-killing animated adventure – officially the streaming platform’s biggest movie of all time – has now spent so many weeks at number one that we can only assume you’re all watching it for about the fifth or sixth time by now. It now has more than 325 million views all in. No matter what comes along to challenge it, it just keeps clinging right on to that top spot (while still amassing close to 20m views per week). In case you’re that one person who hasn’t watched it yet and fancies it this weekend, the film follows Huntrix, a girl group who are living a double life as demon hunters, and who have to spring into action when their fans face danger from a new, rival boy band. Go on. Watch it. And don’t blame us when you can’t get Golden out of your head (Picture: NETFLIX)
