Another group has just checked into “The White Lotus,” as HBO confirms filming is underway on Season 4.
On April 15, the network announced filming has begun on the French Riviera, after previous seasons took place at swanky resorts in Hawaii, Sicily, and Thailand.
In addition to confirming the locations being used for the shoot, HBO also revealed the official synopsis for the season, and the full, star-studded cast.
White Lotus S4 Plot & Location Confirmed
According to HBO’s press release, the fourth season will “follow a new group of White Lotus hotel guests and employees over the span of a week, taking place during the Cannes Film Festival.”
Due to the Cannes Film Festival twist, the series will film in Cannes, as well as St. Tropez, Monaco, and Paris. Per the network, “the story will remain along the Côte d’Azur.”
Hotels being used for the new batch of episodes include Airelles Château de la Messardière as the White Lotus du Cap, and the Hôtel Martinez as the White Lotus Cannes.
The official Instagram page for the show gave fans their first look at the new hotel as well, sharing a short video of the gorgeous location.
Full Cast Revealed
HBO also revealed the full cast listâand it’s stacked with A-list talent.
Among those populating The White Lotus this time around are Helena Bonham Carter, Vincent Cassel, Steve Coogan, Caleb Jonte Edwards, Dylan Ennis, Corentin Fila, Ari Graynor, Marissa Long, Alexander Ludwig, Chris Messina, AJ Michalka, Kumail Nanjiani, and Nadia Tereszkiewicz.
Per HBO, additional cast includes Chloe Bennet, Sandra Bernhard, Heather Graham, Max Greenfield, Frida Gustavsson, Charlie Hall, Jarrad Paul, Rosie Perez, Ben Schnetzer, and Laura Smet.
There’s a pretty good chance at least some of these names will be up for Emmy Awards, as the show has quite the history of accolades with its previous seasons.
“The White Lotus” has picked up a total of 33 Primetime Emmy Award nominations, winning 16 so far. Both Jennifer Coolidge and Murray Bartlett won Emmys for acting, with Coolidge winning twice for playing Tanya McQuoid.
Season 1 earned nominations for Bartlett, Coolidge, Jake Lacy, Steve Zahn, Connie Britton, Alexandra Daddario, Natasha Rothwell, and Sydney Sweeney, with Bartlett and Coolidge taking home trophies.
For Season 2, Meghann Fahy, Sabrina Impacciatore, Aubrey Plaza, Simona Tabasco, F. Murray Abraham, Michael Imperioli, Theo James, and Will Sharpe all received nominations. Coolidge was also nominated again and, again, won.
And for Season 3, Rothwell, Carrie Coon, Parker Posey, Aimee Lou Wood, Walton Goggins, Jason Isaacs, and Sam Rockwell were all nominated, though they all went home empty-handed.
No official premiere date has been set for Season 4. The previous seasons debuted at different times of the year, with Season 1 dropping in July, Season 2 in October and Season 3 in February.
