For all of the fear and trepidation that fans had over last year’s Celebrity Traitors ruining the game’s format for good, the BBC spin-off was nothing short of a triumph.

In a nail-bitingly tense finale, watched by a record-breaking 11.1million people, Alan Carr reigned supreme as he managed to turn Nick Mohammed against former rugby player Joe Marler.

Now, following the announcement of the absolutely stacked cast for season two, which includes the likes of Hollywood legend Richard E. Grant and The Last of Us star Bella Ramsay, excitement is certainly starting to ramp up.

Earlier this week, it was revealed that Maya Jama, who will also be taking part, has reportedly taken a huge pay cut to secure her involvement in the show.

This came after Richard Osman weighed in on who he thinks could be the heavyweights on the show.

Metro readers have their say

Currently, the exact start date for the upcoming series of Celebrity Traitors is not yet known.

But, to find out which players have been deemed an early favourite, we asked Metro readers to name who they would like Claudia Winkleman to pick as Traitors.

Miranda Hart

The 53-year-old actress, comedian and writer is best known for her self-titled, award-winning BBC sitcom Miranda, which aired from 2009 to 2015.

As well as starring in the iconic sitcom, her other roles include Call the Midwife, where she gained widespread critical acclaim for her role as Camilla ‘Chummy’ Fortescue-Cholmondeley-Browne from 2012-2015.

In 2015, she also made her Hollywood debut in the action-comedy film Spy, starring alongside Melissa McCarthy.

But, according to Traitors fans, Miranda Hart would make the perfect Traitor.

What is the full-line up of Celebrity Traitors?

  • Amol Rajan
  • Bella Ramsey
  • James Acaster
  • James Blunt
  • Jerry Hall
  • Joanne McNally
  • Joe Lycett
  • Julie Hesmondhalgh
  • King Kenny
  • Leigh-Anne Pinnock
  • Maya Jama
  • Michael Sheen
  • Miranda Hart
  • Myha’la
  • Professor Hannah Fry
  • Richard E. Grant
  • Rob Beckett
  • Romesh Ranganathan
  • Ross Kemp
  • Sebastian Croft
  • Sharon Rooney

Writing on social media, Facebook user Joanne said: ‘Miranda Hart would be funny’, as Tania chimed in: ‘Miranda Hart to win!!’

Emily also added: ‘Mianda Hart. AND I’M SO HERE FOR IT.’

Ross Kemp

Next on the list, and a polar opposite choice from our Metro readers, is TV ‘hardman’ Ross Kemp.

The 61-year-old actor found fame as Grant Mitchell in EastEnders from 1990 to 1999.

Outside of making some return appearances on the soap, he also found fame as a BAFTA-winning documentary presenter, specifically for Ross Kemp on Gangs, which took him inside the world of organised crime.

Writing on Facebook, Jan argued that he would make the ‘perfect’ Traitor.

I certainly wouldn’t say otherwise if I were speaking to him in person…

Joe Lycett

Another potentially hilarious Traitor being touted by fans is none other than Joe Lycett.

The 37-year-old comedian and TV personality is best known for his distinctive humour, which often combines activism and public stunts.

Throughout his career, the performer has starred in Channel 4’s Joe Lycett’s Got Your Back, Late Night Lycett, Travel Man and The Great British Sewing Bee.

He is also a regular on panel shows such as Taskmaster, 8 Out of 10 Cats Does Countdown and QI.

But according to our readers, Joe could be the perfect comedian to follow in Carr’s footsteps on the series, as Abi alluded to.

Michael Sheen

Also taking to Facebook, Nicky declared that Welsh actor Michael Sheen would make the ‘perfect Traitor’.

The 57-year-old is best known for starring as Brian Clough in The Damned United, Kenneth Williams in Fantabulosa!, and Prince Andrew in A Very Royal Scandal.

Outside of these roles, he is also known for playing Aro in Twilight, Aziraphale in Good Omens and he is highly regarded for his theatre work, for which he has received multiple Olivier Award nominations.

And it seems that if he was able to put his acting skills to use in the castle, he could certainly be the last one standing.

Rob Beckett or Romesh Ranganathan

Another two popular names thrown about as potential Traitors are the comedy duo, Rob Beckett and Romesh Ranganathan.

Writing on Facebook, Gayle said there will be ‘one out of Ron and Romesh’, but they will ‘have to be pitted against one another’.

However, the pair’s involvement in the series has not gone down too smoothly with fans.

After the announcement for the new cast, people argued that they were already on TV too much, as imnickb4 declared it was ‘inevitable that Romesh and Rob would show up.’

The duo’s double act netted them a Sky One TV series, Rob and Romesh Vs, in which they took on various challenges in the world of sport and entertainment.

Separately, they have also both appeared on Last One Laughing (Rob in series one and Romesh in series two) and Taskmaster.

When will Celebrity Traitors season 2 air?

The series will see 21 famous faces head to The Traitors’ castle, ready to play the ultimate game of deception and betrayal in the hope of winning a cash prize of up to £100,000 for a charity of their choice.

Earlier this week, it was revealed that the Celebrity Traitors series two line-up is sparking outrage in America.

In stark contrast to the star-studded line-up of the UK version, the US Traitors consists almost entirely of reality TV stars, which has not gone unnoticed by fans.

Writing on X, user SailorSammy93 wondered why the UK Traitors managed to get ‘actual celebrities’ compared to ‘c-f listers’ of the US version.

The Celebrity Traitors series 2 is coming to iPlayer and BBC One later in 2026.
