This Morning has paid tribute to Matty Lock following the tragic news of his death at the age of just 19.
Lock was a politician and campaigner who was a popular member of the Labour Party in Sefton and Merseyside.
He was recently elected as a town councillor in Maghull and was a parish councillor in Lydiate.
Lock had appeared on the ITV daytime show, sharing his love of vacuums, which started when he was just two and got his first toy Henry.
Back in 2018, aged just 13, Lock had sold around 300 machines to cleaning companies, private homeowners, and schoolteachers.
Taking to Twitter, the official This Morning page wrote that the team are ‘shocked’ by Lock’s sudden death.
Alongside a photo of him on the programme with the dates 2004-2023, they wrote: ‘Everyone at This Morning is shocked and saddened to hear of the passing of Matty Lock, aged just 19.
‘He was a delightful young man, a joy to work with and his passion for vacuum cleaners and general mechanics was infectious.
‘His family came to the studio and they were so proud that he’d turned a childhood hobby into a career.’
‘We will miss him and send our condolences to his family,’ the tribute concluded.
