Vanessa Trump, 48, announced she has been diagnosed with breast cancer in a brave Instagram statement on Wednesday, May 20.
The mom of five wrote:
I want to share a personal health update.
I’ve recently been diagnosed with breast cancer. While this isn’t news anyone expects, I’m working closely with my medical team on a treatment plan. I would like to thank my doctors for performing a procedure earlier this week on me. I am staying focused and hopeful while surrounded by the love and support of my family, my kids, and those closest to me.
Thank you for your kindness and support it truly means more than I can express. I kindly ask for privacy as I focus on my health and recovery.

The news comes a week after Vanessa’s boyfriend Tiger Woods returned from traveling out of the country for rehab. The pair publicly announced they were in a relationship last year, and a recent People exclusive says they are “very much in love.” The report says the outlet was told by a source that the 5-time Masters champion took his rehab stint “seriously” and is “happy” to be back home.
Tiger, among thousands of other people, “liked” Vanessa’s social media announcment.
Vanessa Trump Flooded With Support After Sharing Breast Cancer Diagnosis
Friends and family began flooding the comments of Vanessa’s post, which are limited to certain users, after she announced her cancer diagnosis. Her former sister-in-law, fashion designer Ivanka Trump, wrote “Praying for your continued strength and a swift recovery. Love you mama.”
One person who appeared to possibly know Vanessa from their comment wrote, “Just wanted to send you a big hug and remind you how loved you are. You are a beautiful, kind, fun soul and an amazing mom. I know this journey isnât easy, but you are so strong and surrounded by so much love and support. Thinking of you and sending healing, strength, and lots of love your way.”
Another person who referred to Vanessa as “my friend” said they were sorry to hear the news and encouraged her, “You will beat this. My mom came out stronger than ever and I know you this will not stop you. You are one of the best people I know and this will be in your past before you know it. I love you and prayers coming your way.”
Yet another supporter called her “one of the strongest women I know” before assuring her they are praying.

7 days before Vanessa revealed her diagnosis, her daughter Kai turned 19 and celebrated by posting a set of photos which included a snap of the young golfer posing with her mother in the second slide.
Vanessa smiled happily, dressed in boot cut jeans and a tan sweater.
Kai is Vanessa’s oldest child. The others are 17, 14, 13, and 11.
She shares the children with her ex-husband, Donald Trump Jr, to whom she was married from 2005 to 2018, when she filed for a divorce which was finalized quickly.
