Tom Holland’s shocking Spider-Man salary revealed after it swings past $2,000,000,000 at box office

It is a good year to be Tom Holland.

Not only has the British actor smashed box office records with his fourth Spider-Man movie, Brand New Day, he’s also found time to star in another smash-hit and marry his Spidey co-star Zendaya.

And thanks to the success of the ever-dependable friendly neighbourhood Spider-Man, it is fair to say those wedding costs have been more than covered.

His first solo movie as the beloved Marvel superhero dates back to 2017 in Spider-Man: Homecoming, and almost a decade later, the 30-year-old actor has firmly cemented himself as the web-wielding underdog we all know and love.

As he reprises his role as Peter Parker once more in Brand New Day, it’s clear that fans have a healthy appetite for the franchise and, despite competing with himself as Telemachus in the other big summer blockbuster, The Odyssey (which also stars Zendaya), the movie has already raked in a record-breaking amount.

In the US, it beat Avengers: Endgame for the biggest opening weekend in history and, worldwide, has already grossed $1.05billion (£900k) in just the first six days. Essentially, it’s a mammoth hit.

Not only that, but it’s been matched by its critical acclaim, securing a sweet 98% audience score on Rotten Tomatoes, just beating the others for the highest-ranked one so far.

It currently sits at $2.03billion worldwide (£1.49billion), making it the highest-grossing film of 2026 so far (The Odyssey is second with $1.3billion) and is the 8th highest-grossing film of all time just three weeks after release. It will likely end up climbing the rankings even more before the summer is out.

Given the sheer success of the franchise, it’s no surprise that Tom is cashing in with a hefty salary, with his base salary reported to be coming in at $20million to $25million (£14.8m to £18.5m).

But now, given the success of the movie, his payday is set to be even bigger thanks to his backend bonuses,which could push his potential earnings upwards to a whopping $100million (£73.9million).

This is levelling up from his Homecoming salary, which was a modest $1.5m (£1.1m).

Especially impressive compared to his Spider-Man predecessors, Andrew Garfield and Tobey Maguire, with the Daily Mail reporting that the closest either got to this figure was $17.5m (£12.9m) for Spider-Man 2.

There’s no denying this has been a mammoth year for the British actor, who is celebrating both personal and professional wins. Starring in both Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey and the new Spider-Man alongside his now-wife Zendaya, he seems to be revelling in the success.

He’s had quite the press tour for his back-to-back movies, tickling fans with his candid and unfiltered nature.

During a chat on the Dish from Waitrose podcast with Nick Grimshaw and Angela Hartnett, he even admitted he’s ‘lied through his teeth’ to promote objectively terrible movies. ‘I’ve had experiences before when people say: “Why should you see this movie?” and in the back of your mind you’re like: “You shouldn’t because it’s s**t,’ he revealed.

Elsewhere, he seemed to be having the time of his life on Hot Ones, the chat show where stars have to eat increasingly spicy chicken wings. The spice clearly proved too much for Tom, who made history by being the first guest to actually vomit on camera, but he was beaming throughout and even celebrated being the first.

With a busy summer behind them, the newlyweds Tom and Zendaya can now look forward to a bit of downtime before having to think about donning the spandex once again.
