WWE superstar Baron Corbin has revealed he’s building up ‘quite the collection’ of human skulls and has them on full display.

The former United States Champion has spoken before about wanting to open up his own whiskey or wine bar filled with ‘oddities’, and for now he has various items up in his own home.

‘I have quite the collection [of human skulls],’ he laughed while speaking exclusively to Metro.co.uk in Germany before WWE’s recent Bash In Berlin event.

‘They’re in a display case. Now, it’s pretty funny, when you walk in the house, you see, a display case – like, weird,’ he laughed, recalling people’s reactions when they step into his home.

‘They’re like, “Must be Halloween decorations”. And you’re like, “No, those are real!” They’re like, “What?” It’s always a pretty funny conversation.’

When Corbin got his first skull, his partner was keen to keep it hidden from their young daughters, but now she’s willing to let him ‘have his weirdness’.

As well as his career in professional wrestling, the veteran star is trying to use his platform to ‘spread the things I’m into’, including the oddities bar and various other projects.

‘I’ve got my hands in a few different things. Now, back in Tampa, we’re building a coffee company. I’ve got a restaurant there, that is pretty neat, like an old school dive,’ he said.

‘Maybe at some point we’re transitioning those things [the oddities] into that world. I want to just keep sharing the food and the coffee and all those things with people.’

Food and culture is a big deal for the former NFL player, who makes sure to experience every city he’s in by walking around and seeing more than a hotel room and the arena.

‘I walked nearly 10 miles yesterday,’ he told us on the Friday morning before SmackDown in Berlin. ‘I finished Jiu Jitsu last night at like, 9:30 at night, two miles from the hotel. “You know what, I’m gonna walk back.”

‘They’re like, “We can get you a car”. “I’m gonna walk”. And I got to experience a little bit of the nightlife just walking by and kind of people watching.’

If there’s one lesson Corbin wants to pass on to the young stars rising up the ranks in WWE, it’s to embrace the chance to see the world as part of the job.

‘I will skip the workout to go explore the city. Because I can do that at home. I can make that workout up,’ he explained. ‘I want to experience where I’m at to the fullest too.’

He has urged the up and coming superstars like Carmelo Hayes not to take their lives in WWE for granted, because ‘not many people’ get to do what they’re doing.

‘I always tell the younger guys, especially, “Don’t sleep all day. Don’t worry about the gym. Go and experience the city,”‘ he said enthusiastically.

‘Because not many people ever get this opportunity. I mean, I know lists of people that have never been to Europe, and you’re getting to do that for free, and experience not only the wrestling culture, but experience the culture culture of everywhere!’

WWE SmackDown airs Friday nights at 1am on TNT Sport 1.
