Milagro Gramz, whose legal name is Milagro Cooper, allegedly acted as Lanez’s “paid surrogate” to spread “vicious and hateful rumors” about Megan (via <a href=”https://www.rollingstone.com/music/music-news/tory-lanez-contempt-megan-thee-stallion-blogger-lawsuit-1235466157/” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>Rolling Stone</a>). Megan’s claims against Cooper include defamation, intentional infliction of emotional distress, and the promotion of an altered sexual depiction.</p>

<p id=”par-3_34″>Cooper allegedly liked a fake, sexually-explicit video of Megan on X (formerly Twitter), then posted “Go to my likes.” Megan’s team argues that this encouraged Cooper’s followers to see and circulate the fake video.</p>

<p id=”par-4_29″>Lanez has to <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/tory-lanez-claims-he-ended-up-in-jail-because-he-was-protecting-two-black-women.html/”>give a jailhouse deposition</a> in the trial, but he refused to answer questions from Megan’s lawyers. Lanez was uncooperative and reportedly disruptive during a recent meeting.</p>
<p id=”par-5_48″>U.S. Magistrate Judge Lisette M. Reid wrote that Lanez “stormed out of the room” and told Megan’s lawyer to “calm down.” He also declined to answer questions about Cooper. When he was informed that he would receive a fine if he didn’t answer, he said he didn’t care.</p>
<p id=”par-6_16″>“Whatever the fines are, I’ll pay them,” he allegedly said. “I’m a millionaire. I don’t care.”</p>
<p id=”par-7_33″>As a result, Lanez must now pay Megan’s lawyers $20,000 “as a fine for his obstruction of Plaintiff’s multiple attempts to depose him.” The court also held his lawyer, Crystal Morgan, in contempt.</p>

<p id=”par-8_47″>Lanez was convicted of shooting Megan in 2020 and sentenced to 10 years in prison. His trial was divisive, with a number of celebrities, <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/people-say-drake-destined-irrelevancy-posted-support-tory-lanez.html/”>such as Drake</a>, coming out in support of him. After another inmate stabbed Lanez in prison, some people began <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/attorney-claims-to-have-new-evidence-that-proves-tory-lanezs-innocence-megan-thee-stallion-responds.html/”>pushing for his pardon</a>. </p>
