Reality star Jake Hall shared an optimistic social media post mere hours before his death, aged 35.
Hall joined the cast of The Only Way Is Essex in 2015 and starred on the ITV show from seasons 14 to 17.
This morning, it was announced that he had been found dead with head injuries at a villa in Majorca, having reportedly crashed through a glass door.
In a statement, a spokesperson for the Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office said: ‘We are supporting the family of a British man who has died in Spain and are in contact with the local authorities.’
Authorities have deemed it still ‘too early’ to say exactly what happened, with an investigation by the Spanish Civil Guard ongoing.
The comments section of his final Instagram post, shared just yesterday, has since been filled with shocked reactions and heartfelt tributes, as Hall had penned a caption celebrating ‘good things’.
Taking to his feed, which boasts almost 400,000 followers, Hall shared a montage of clips from his holiday in Spain, showing himself posing in various outfits, dancing with pals, and painting.
His caption read: ‘Life is b******s sometimes but I’m gonna try remember the good things – ✨⚡️ looking through things – I’m just making art – in many forms’.
Following the announcement of Hall’s untimely death, the likes of Antony Costa wrote underneath his final post: ‘So sad 😞 what a lovely bloke you were mate R.I.P’.
‘Rest In Peace Jake! keep dancing up there! 🤍’, wrote Jamie Corbett.
‘Jake 🙁 you were such a sweet soul, I always loved our catch ups. I know things weren’t always easy for you but you never gave up and you really loved your little girl more than anything in the world. This is so devastating. Keep dancing up in heaven. Rest in peace ❤️’, said Roxie Nafousi.
Hall is survived by an eight-year-old daughter, River, who also featured in his final social media video.
Her mother, Misse Beqiri, who is Hall’s ex-wife, issued an emotional statement earlier today, telling Tyla via her spokesperson: ‘At this time, Misse’s focus is on supporting and protecting their child as they come to terms with this devastating loss.
‘The family are asking for privacy, compassion, and respect while they grieve privately.’
Real Housewives of Cheshire star Beqiri welcomed River with Hall in November 2017 and got engaged the following year. Shortly afterwards, Hall was handed a restraining order after neighbours overheard an argument at their home. At the time, his representatives insisted there was no violence on his part.
Hall was forbidden from contacting the model directly or indirectly and from attending Park Walk in Chelsea for 28 days.
After five years together, they split in 2021.
Hall, who ran a menswear brand called By Jake Hall, also previously dated his co-star Chloe Lewis. Their on/off romance formed his main storyline on Towie.
Jake Hall’s death – What we know
Police found Jake Hall lying in a pool of blood with fatal injuries caused by shards of glass after he reportedly smashed his head through a door.
The former Towie star had been in Majorca with witnesses informing investigators he had been ‘partying all night and decided to carry on the party back at the place he was renting’.
Police were called to the rented property at 7.30am and have interviewed four men and two women staying at the house.
A neighbour told local paper Ultima Hora: ‘It must have been around 2am. It was late but I was still awake.
‘I began to hear a very loud noise, as if they were drilling something. I felt the walls vibrate. They stopped after about five minutes and then I fell asleep.’
Another neighbour said she hadn’t heard anything out of the ordinary.
Hall’s body was removed from the property at around 1pm yesterday.
There have been no arrests and an autopsy will take place in the Majorcan capital Palma.
Ultimately, they split after his admission to being unfaithful in explosive scenes in the series 17 finale.
Honouring Hall today, the team behind Towie shared their own tribute: ‘Jake was a part of the Towie family for a number of years, and we send our very deepest sympathies to his family and friends following today’s very sad news.’
Hall left the programme to focus on his clothing brand, Prevu, which was worn by the likes of Bella Hadid and Romeo Beckham, but it unfortunately entered administration in 2022.
Still, Hall continued pursuing fashion and launched his second label in 2022.
Speaking to Drapers in 2023, Hall said: ‘After my previous corporate partnership deal, I no longer hold any ownership in the brand I founded and put my life and soul into. I’m going to come back mainly to show anyone who is going through something similar in any way that we don’t give up.
‘When I look back at the beginning, setting the brand up in my garage with no money, I knew it was more than a brand of clothing; it was a brand about life, a brand authentic to me about personality, emotions and real feelings.’
Then, in May 2025, during one of his final interviews, Hall admitted that he had been at a ‘very low point’ when his business collapsed, adding of his young daughter: ‘If I’m honest, River is the reason I’m here today.
‘She’s amazing, and we’ve got an incredible relationship. She’s very creative, is always dancing, and loves clothes.
‘It was that part that hurt most when I lost Prévu. I lost something that was for her; everything I do is for her and her future.’
So far, no arrests have been made in connection with Hall’s death. An autopsy will take place in the Majorcan capital, Palma.
Police are currently focusing on the theory that Hall hit his head on a door in a tragic accident, having been called out to his rented villa at 7:30am yesterday, where four men and two women were interviewed.
They reportedly went out in the evening and returned to the pottery to party into the early hours.
