
As fans know, Loni Anderson died on August 3, 2025. The actress, best known for her role in the CBS sitcom “WKRP in Cincinnati, was just two days shy of her 80th birthday.
People reported on August 22 that TMZ obtained her death certificate, which lists the star’s cause of death as metastatic uterine leiomyosarcoma, a rare cancer.
The National Organization for Rare Disorders describes the condition as “a rare malignant (cancerous) tumor that arises from the smooth muscle lining the walls of the uterus.”
The report says the mother of two was buried in Hollywood on August 7 after being cremated.

In a courageous interview with talk show “Studio 10,” Anderson talked about ending her high-profile relationship with Burt Reynolds. The segment said the couple’s divorce was such hot news in Hollywood that Reynolds claimed Princess Diana wrote him a thank you note for keeping her off the cover of People Magazine.
Explaining how she got through the turmoil, Anderson revealed, “I used to say to my daughter, ‘At home there’s just regular me. Loni Anderson me. And then there’s a tabloid me. And I’m not the tabloid. I’m just your mom. And we’ll get through whatever it is cause we’re just real people.’”
Anderson called Quinton, the adopted son she shared with Reynolds “fabulous,” and revealed the exes were keeping in contact for his sake. “As a matter of fact, we had dinner a couple of years ago with Quinton,” she said. The beauty went on, “You know, time passes. We were friends first. We were together for 12 years. We have this wonderful boy. You have to let all the other stuff go.”
