When Kate Hudson isn’t filming her next role, she’s likely at home with her family. An adoring mom of three kids, she took to Instagram on Thursday, October 2, to celebrate her youngest, Rani Rose, whom Kate shares with fiancé Danny Fujikawa.
The post includes a video that shows the birthday girl on the stairs of a trailer with her mom, skipping around a studio, lounging on vacation and shopping with her famous parent, among other clips.
“My little lady is 7 today! My sweet sparkly sassy silly sunshine girl! You are the light of my life ðððâï¸ð I love you! Happy Birthday âï¸ âï¸,” Kate wrote in the caption of her post.
Fans were happy to see the video featuring Rani and her loving family; however, they were also amazed at how old she is already.
“How is she 7?! She is perfection! Happiest of birthdays Rani Roseð¹,” someone wrote.
Another person left a comment, saying, “Happy 7th!!!!!!!! @katehudson how has it been 7 years already!!!!!!!!! ð¤¯ð¤¯ð¤¯ð¤¯ð¤¯ð¤¯ð¤¯”

Kate Says Rani is ‘So Magical’ & a ‘Total Firecracker’
If you watch the video Kate posted for her daughter’s birthday, it’s clear that Rani is a vibrant little girl with lots of fantastic energy. Those are aspects that her mother surely adores.
“She’s the best. She’s so magical,” Kate told People in June 2024. “She’s definitely her mother’s daughter. It takes her forever to get out of the house. She’s very particular about her wardrobe and her clothes and her vibe.”
“She is just a total firecracker, but then she’s much more emotional than I think I was when I was little,” Kate also explained. “She’s much more of an empath where I was like, yeah. She’s just very empathetic and emotional.”
Rani Has Strong Opinions
Rani may only be seven, however, she already has strong opinions and is totally willing to share them when she pleases.
“She watches everything I do, and she has something to say about it,” Kate said during on appearance on “Late Night with Seth Meyers” (via NBC). She recalled, “On set on Running Point, she was like always, ‘Now, mommy, I don’t know why you went to the desk like that.’”
“Well, because that’s the joke, and she’s like, “But it’s not funny,’” she added. “And I was like, ‘Oh. Well, maybe it’ll be funny when you never see it.’”
Kate also explained that her to her daugther, “everything’s very aesthetic.” Kate told Meyers, “Even like architecture, she’ll walk into a building and she’ll just be like, ‘The light is really amazing in here.’ And you’re like, ‘Wow, okay. That’s sophisticated.’”
