Vin Diesel Honors Late Costar Paul Walker 12 Years After His Passing

Vin Diesel

In a heartfelt Instagram post, “Fast & Furious” star Vin Diesel marked the 12th anniversary of Paul Walker’s death with a tender throwback photo.

In the image shared on Saturday, Nov. 20, it showed a quiet reminder of the bond they shared on and off set.

Diesel simply captioned the post: “Twelve years… Not a day goes by…Miss you.”

The photograph appears to capture an unguarded moment from their years working together — with Diesel standing and Walker seated nearby, both dressed casually, underscoring the closeness and comfort between them.

It’s a visual testament to their deep friendship as much as their professional partnership.

A Brotherhood Beyond Film

Diesel and Walker first teamed up in the original 2001 “The Fast and the Furious,” launching a blockbuster franchise that would grow into one of Hollywood’s biggest.

But their relationship went far beyond co-stars. Over the years, Diesel has repeatedly described Walker not just as a friend, but as family — calling him “brother” in interviews and dedicating countless tributes to his memory.

When Walker died in a tragic car crash on Nov. 30, 2013, while on a charitable outing, the world mourned.

He was just 40. The loss hit the “Fast & Furious” community hard — and reshaped the course of the franchise forever.

The final film Walker worked on, “Furious 7,” was completed with large-scale reshoots and CGI, ending with an emotional farewell scene that turned into a cultural moment.

Keeping His Memory Alive

Year after year, Diesel has kept Walker’s presence alive in small but meaningful ways — stronger than any public spectacle.

On previous anniversaries, he’s shared memories, acknowledged how much he misses him, and emphasized the influence Walker still has on him personally.

More than that: he’s stepped into a supportive role for Walker’s daughter, Meadow Walker, even walking her down the aisle at her wedding in 2021.

For many fans, that gesture sealed the notion that the “Fast & Furious family” was never just screen-deep.

The Franchise Is Wrapping Up & Diesel Has A Few Requests

The last film is reported to hit theaters in April 2027, according to Entertainment Weekly.

“The studio said to me, ‘Vin, can we please have the finale of Fast & Furious [in] April 2027?’” Diesel began. “I said, ‘Under three conditions.’”

“First, is to bring the franchise back to L.A.! The second thing was to return to the car culture, to the street racing,” he noted. “The third thing was reuniting [Diesel’s character] Dom and [Walker’s character] Brian O’Conner.”
