Their 11-day cruise started in Gibraltar and traveled through the Mediterranean to Algeria, Tunisia, Sicily, the Greek Islands, and Egypt.

While the two took vacations and other private trips on yachts, they were photographed arriving and departing in boats for a number of official royal tours as well.

Grant Harrold was <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/tag/king-charles/?swcfpc=1″ target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>King Charles’ butler for seven years. During his time working for the now-monarch, his duties included those of valet, housekeeper, house manager, and driver as well.

Speaking to <a href=”https://theboatcharter.com/” target=”_blank” rel=”noreferrer noopener”>The Boat Charter, Harrold said that Princess Diana “loved going on superyachts” and “The royal family are very much a sea-loving family. They’re known for their love of yachting holidays — and who wouldn’t? It’s a lovely way to travel, a nice way to see the world, and it’s fun.”

Harrold added that they prefer yachts and boats for another reason as well, explaining: “Yachting is also a great way for the royals to get privacy while abroad. When you’re out at sea, it’s a bit trickier to be tracked or followed. It gives them that privacy.”

A video recently posted to YouTube has gone viral that shows Princess Diana sliding down an entire ramp as she exits a boat before Charles.

The 5-second video titled “When Princess Diana Slid Off the Ship The Royal Exit No One Expected!” has more than 16 million views and counting. The clip has garnered over 158,000 likes and more than 1,500 comments, most of which praised the princess for turning what could have been a disaster into a bit of fun.

“She was such an Original. A breath of fresh air. So beloved,” one person wrote, while a second added, “No air and graces with this LADY. She was the most down-to-earth royal. Rest in Peace beautiful LADY.”

Another chimed in: “She loved to live natural, authentic, and joyfully.”

A fourth person posted: “That lil [sic] hop is just one of the reasons we loved her so. Not some stuff royal … but one of us.”

Another person opined: “That’s why the world adores her, she was never afraid to be human. Being herself without explanation or justification, she wouldn’t be molded or forced.” A sixth person agreed with that, commenting: “She was one in a billion. A real person who cared about people and not stuffy or nose-in-the-air type of person. She could find humor in just about anything.”

And another summed it up saying: “Beautiful! The People’s Princess never left off her childhood antics. She lived it for real. You and I can relate to her innate nature. RIP Princess D. You’re in the right hands now!”
