When Billionaire businessman Jeff Bezos ties the knot with bride-to-be Lauren Sánchez, the Venice nuptials are expected to be what some are calling the âwedding of the century.â
So maybe it’s no wonder that insiders say Vogue editor Anna Wintour is lobbying hard for the exclusive.
According to Page Six, Wintour wants exclusive access to the three-day event in Venice, Italy this June. But sources say “nothing is settled.”
The Amazon founder and Vogue editor have a long-standing relationship that began in 2012, when Amazon began sponsoring Wintour’s Met Gala.
June Wedding Will Takeover Venice During the Height of Tourist Season
Bloomberg currently lists the 61-year-old billionaire as having a net worth of $206 billion.
And Jeff Bezos seems happy to dip into that for the couple’s wedding weekend.
According to Page Six, the groom is believed to have traveled to Venice a few weeks ago to look at potential venues and to meet Veniceâs mayor Luigi Brugnaro.
The Venice mayor has addressed the concerns of locals who fear the event will shut their city down, saying, “We are mutually working and supporting the organizers, to ensure that the event will be absolutely respectful of the fragility and uniqueness of the city.”
âThe Daily Mailâ reports that two of the cityâs best hotels, the Gritti Palace and Aman Venice, are completely booked from June 26 to June 29.
Rooms at both hotels cost a minimum of $3,200 a night. And they go up to almost ten times that amount for certain suites during the busy summer tourist season.
According to the âDaily Mail,â a local Venetian news site reported, âIn preparation for the event, Venice is bracing for the arrival of VIPs. The cityâs top luxury hotels have already been booked. And reports say the entire fleet of water taxis will be made available to shuttle guests across the canals. The logistics point to a highly exclusive, tightly coordinated celebration. Choosing Venice is more than a romantic gesture. Itâs a nod to the coupleâs shared history with the city, which theyâve frequently visited during their relationship. ⦠The wedding is poised to be a defining social event of 2025, not only for the couple but for Venice itself.â
Bezos Out of This World Guest List is ‘A-List’ All the Way
Needless to say, the so-called “wedding of the century” is a hot ticket among celebrities.
Which means the Bezos-Sanchez guest list is nothing short of A-list.
According to TMZ and the Daily Mail, media mogul Oprah Winfrey got a coveted invite, as did her best friend Gayle King. Leonardo DiCaprio and Eva Longoria made the cut, as did Orlando Bloom and his fiancée, pop star Katy Perry.
Both King and Perry recently traveled to space with Sanchez aboard Bezos‘ Blue Origin rocket ship âNew Shepherd-31.”
Movie producer Brian Glazer, and singers Barbra Streisand and Jewel are also expected to be on hand.
Fellow tycoon Bill Gates made the cut. So did media mogul Barry Diller and his wife, fashion designer Diane von Furstenberg.
And while she may not have the exclusive yet, Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour certainly has an invitation in hand.
Queen Rania Al Abdullah of Jordan received an invitation. As did President Donald Trump, daughter Ivanka and her husband Jared Kushner, his brother Joshua and wife Karlie Kloss.
And reality stars Kim Kardashian and her momager, Kris Jenner got invites.
Wedding Entertainment Remains Unconfirmed, but Dolly is Couple’s Top Choice
What’s not yet known is who will headline the entertainment for the couple’s three-day celebration.
But there’s no question who Jeff Bezos hopes it will be.
According to âSubstack,â there is only ONE name on the coupleâs wish list for wedding singer. And itâs none other than country legend Dolly Parton.
âThere were other names floated, but Jeff only lit up at one: Dolly,â an insider close to the couple shares with Substack. âSheâs always been his number one.â
âLauren wanted something magical and unforgettable,â a wedding planner quoted in the article says. âAnd Dolly singing âI Will Always Love Youâ isnât just unforgettable â itâs history.â
