Vogue Williams gives birth to ‘beautiful’ fourth child with Spencer Matthews

Vogue Williams has welcomed her fourth child with husband Spencer Matthews, announcing that their ‘beautiful baby boy’ has arrived safely.

The Irish presenter, 40, shared the happy news on Tuesday evening after giving birth to another son, making the couple officially a family of six.

Vogue and former Made In Chelsea star Spencer, 38, are already parents to Theodore, seven, Gigi, six, and four-year-old Otto.

Announcing their newest arrival on Instagram, Vogue wrote: ‘Our beautiful baby boy has arrived safely… The house is bursting with excitement, love and happiness and we couldn’t be more delighted.’

The couple were quickly inundated with congratulations, with Holly Willoughby hailing Vogue a ‘super mamma’, while Amanda Holden and Zoe Ball were among the famous faces celebrating the news.

One detail Vogue isn’t sharing just yet, however, is what they’ve decided to call him, and there’s quite a story behind that.

Just days before giving birth, the presenter revealed she and Spencer had abandoned the rather bold name they’d spent months planning to give their son.

And after previously warning that their choice was ‘f****d’ and ‘mad’, she finally revealed what it was: Elvis.

Speaking on her My Therapist Ghosted Me podcast, Vogue announced: ‘Do you know what? Big news from my week.

‘We have changed our baby name – we have no name. You know the name was pretty full on and I loved the name.’

Apparently, not everyone in the Matthews clan was quite as enthusiastic about welcoming a little Elvis into the family.

‘Spenny has been getting a few phone calls from family members regarding the name,’ Vogue admitted, prompting co-host Joanne McNally to joke: ‘I just don’t think Gary is that controversial.’

Vogue explained that despite loving their original choice, she’d never been entirely convinced it was fair to saddle their son with such a famous moniker.

‘I honestly thought though because it’s been on my mind I just, I haven’t ever been 100 per cent comfortable with it,’ she said.

‘But because as much as I love the name it’s such a big name to take on when you’re little or trying to get a job when you’re older.’ She added that they had ‘other very cool options’ before finally confirming: ‘We were going to call the baby Elvis, I love it.’

Elvis does at least explain why Vogue spent much of her pregnancy preparing everyone for a potentially divisive choice.

Back in June, she teased that she and Spencer had settled on something considerably more unusual than Theodore, Gigi or Otto.

‘I’m just going to warn everyone, the name we love is f****d. Okay. It’s mad,’ she told listeners.

Joanne’s reaction did little to calm her nerves, describing it as the ‘heaviest hitter’ of all four children’s names.

Vogue and Spencer announced they were expecting their fourth child in April, sharing the news with the simple message: ‘BABY NUMBER 4 INCOMING…’

The pregnancy followed a difficult period for the couple, with Vogue previously revealing she had suffered two miscarriages.

She described one of the losses as ‘awful and heartbreaking’ after attending what she expected to be a routine 12-week scan and learning the embryo had stopped developing.

Spencer later acknowledged that getting to their fourth pregnancy had been more difficult than their previous experiences.

‘We’re so happy,’ he said. ‘Definitely more bumps in the road in order to actually get pregnant. This one’s been harder to get to.’

The pair, who married in 2018, have also spent the past year batting away persistent speculation about the state of their marriage.

Rumours intensified after Spencer stepped away from their joint Spencer & Vogue podcast to focus on his own project, Untapped, and the couple didn’t publicly mark their seventh wedding anniversary.

Vogue subsequently made it abundantly clear there was no dramatic split happening behind the scenes.

‘It’s with great sadness that I have to let you know that Spen and I are NOT breaking up!’ she joked in a statement addressing the speculation.

She went on to describe the rumours as ‘baseless and cruel’, adding that she was particularly concerned about their children encountering the claims at school.

‘We’re very happily married and in love and I hope posting the truth on my own platform might make it stop,’ she said.

Now, there appears to be rather more pressing business in the Matthews-Williams household, with four children under one roof – and a newborn whose name remains a mystery.
