
Every year on July 4th for 45 years, people from all over the country descend on Washington, D.C. for the annual “A Capitol Fourth” celebration. The event, a celebration of our country and everyone who has served in the Armed Forces or supported family who have, is renowned for its emotional and memorable displays of patriotism. It also features some fantastic performances by award-winning musical acts and performers.
For the second year in a row, the event will be hosted by Alfonso Ribeiro, known to some as Carlton from “The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air” and to others as the host of “America’s Funniest Home Videos” and “Dancing With the Stars.” Keep reading for details on where to watch the iconic celebration.
The Concert Begins at 8:00 p.m. ET
“A Capitol Fourth” is a live, free Independence Day celebration held on the West Lawn of the U.S. Capitol. Gates open at 3 p.m. ET. Guests must pass through a metal detector and bag inspection upon entry. Food and low-backed chairs are allowed. Guests are also encouraged to bring water to drink.
The event is expected to begin at 8:00 p.m. ET and finish at 9:30 p.m.

‘A Capitol Fourth’ Can Be Viewed From Practically Anywhere
The celebration is available to watch on your iPhone, Android, Apple TV, Android TV, Amazon Fire TV, Samsung Smart TV, Amazon Fire Tablet, Roku, and Vizio. It can be streamed live at PBS.org. For those on the go, a more portable option is available. It can be viewed via the PBS app on your phone or tablet. You can also check your local listings and watch “A Capitol Fourth” on your local PBS television station.
The concert can also be streamed on the Facebook page for “A Capitol Fourth” and on PBS’s YouTube channel. It is even available for those in the Armed Forces serving overseas via the American Forces Network.
