Watching the Boston Pops Fireworks Spectacular is one of the most memorable ways to celebrate the 4th of July in Boston. In 2025, the tradition returns with an earlier start time and a star-studded list of performers.
The event takes place at the DCR Hatch Shell on the Esplanade and includes a live concert by the Boston Pops Orchestra, followed by a stunning fireworks display over the Charles River. Whether youâre heading to the lawn or watching from home, hereâs what to expect.
What Time Do the Boston Fireworks Start?
This yearâs schedule is slightly different, with festivities starting an hour earlier than usual.
The concert begins at 7 p.m. ET(previously 8 p.m.)
Fireworks begin at 9:40 p.m. ET(previously 10:30 p.m)
The fireworks show will last 30 minutes.
If you want a prime viewing spot at The Oval â the grassy area in front of the Hatch Shell â gates open at noon, and seats are first-come, first-served.
How to Watch the Boston Pops Fireworks on TV
Donât want to deal with crowds or traffic? You can catch the whole show from home.

Nationally, the concert and fireworks will be broadcast on The CW starting at 9 p.m.

Who’s Performing at the 2025 Boston Pops Spectacular?
This year marks the 51st Boston Pops Fireworks Spectacular, and the 2025 lineup brings together a mix of star power and hometown pride.
Grammy winner LeAnn Rimes will headline the event, bringing her iconic hits like âHow Do I Liveâ and âCanât Fight the Moonlightâ to the Esplanade stage. Joining her are Bostonâs own Bell Biv DeVoe, whoâll perform their â90s anthem âPoison,â and Broadway favorite Leslie Odom Jr., best known for originating the role of Aaron Burr in Hamilton.
The night also celebrates a major milestone for conductor Keith Lockhart, who marks his 30th year leading the Boston Pops. The entire evening is part of the Massachusetts 250 initiative, honoring the lead-up to Americaâs 250th anniversary in 2026.
