The final film in the Jackass franchise has hit our screens, and one scene in particular has everyone talking.

Johnny Knoxville, Steve-O, Chris Pontius and the gang are back for Jackass: Best and Last, the fifth and final instalment in the film series, which is full of mischievous antics, big laughs, and a celebration of friendship.

However, cinemagoers have been left feeling physically sick over a scene involving laxatives, clear underwear, and a good old-fashioned game of Twister.

Without spoiling the scene, let’s just say gasps and gags were heard in several early screenings of the film due to its graphic closeup shots.

Speaking to Metro on the red carpet for the film at London’s BFI IMAX, Jackass’ longtime director and co-creator of the show, Jeff Tremaine, revealed how the sickening stunt almost didn’t make it into the film.

‘It’s foul,’ he told us.

‘I did come up with that one, and I’m not proud of it. We weren’t even editing it because it was so disgusting and I felt that we already had enough gross stuff already in the film.

‘I just left it on the editing floor until I was reminded about it.’

He added: ‘But I just didn’t want to get rid of it. There was a certain Paramount executive that insisted that we put that in the movie.’

Of course, the franchise has seen no shortage of disgusting and dangerous stunts over the past two decades, with Knoxville admitting he’s come close to death multiple times.

But it’s only now that Knoxville is throwing in the towel for good.

The 55-year-old told us: ‘I’ve said before that we’re finished but this is really it.

Jackass’ worst injuries through the years

Bull hit

Johnny Knoxville infamously suffered major injuries after being launched into the air by a bull in the film Jackass: Forever. He suffered a brain haemorrhage, broken rib, broken wrist, and concussion.

Butterbean knockout

Knoxville was knocked out by boxer Eric Esch (Butterbean) in shocking footage which airs in the final film. The KO made him instantly start snoring, and he later suffered a severe concussion and vertigo.

Urethral tear

In Jackass Presents: Mat Hoffman’s Tribute to Evel Knievel, Knoxville attempted to make a dirt bike do a backflip which left him crashing 20 feet in the air and the bike crashing into his penis. He had to use a catheter for three-and-a-half years after sustaining the injury.

Third degree burns

Steve-O suffered third degree burns covering 15% of his upper body and needed life-saving surgery and skin grafts after covering himself in rocket fuel and igniting it in his living room.

Lamborghini tooth pull

Ehren McGhehey (AKA Danger Ehren) literally broke his face when he took part in a stunt trying to pull his tooth out with a sportscar. It did rip his tooth out, but also cracked his skull in the process, leading to a facial fracture extending from his mouth to his eye socket.

‘It feels like a good place to end. We wanted to go out on our own terms, and it feels like we have with this film.’

As for how he’ll be passing the time now that he’s free from death-defying stunts, Knoxville revealed that, just like much of the UK, he’s become obsessed with The Traitors. So far, he’s binged every single series (including international) of the show with his wife Emily Ting.

‘Oh my god, I just love that show. We’ve watched at least 12 different countries,’ he told us.

‘I’ve got through all the UK ones. It’s fantastic.’

When asked if he would ever go on the show, Johnny told us: ‘What I would love to do is get all the Jackass cast in and do a Jackass/Traitors spin-off. Because what you need to be a good Traitor… none of us possess.’
