The innovative rapper was picked up in Los Angeles by police after he was found wandering the streets in just briefs and cowboy boots, incoherent and combative. He was taken to a hospital and <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/lil-nas-x-arrested-found-roaming-la-streets-underwear.html/”>charged with battery on a police officer</a>. While it’s unclear exactly what led to Lil Nas X’s erratic behavior, what we do know is that it was not his first hospital stint in 2025. The rapper, whose legal name is Montero Lamar Hill, was hospitalized back in April. So what exactly happened?</p>

<p id=”par-2_65″>Lil Nas X’s recent hospitalization was caused by erratic behavior. His hospital stay in April was caused by something purely physical. In April, he shared photos of himself from a hospital bed with half of his <a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/justin-biebers-paralysis-causes-ramsay-hunt-syndrome.html/”>face paralyzed.</a> The rapper explained that he “lost control of the right side of my face” in the upload. He did not elaborate further and never shared a diagnosis.</p>

<p id=”par-3_76″>The artist appears to have completely recovered, leading some fans to assume he was suffering from Bell’s Palsy. Bell’s Palsy is a common neurological condition that causes weakness in one side of the face. It often occurs during a viral infection and genuinely resolves within a few weeks. According to <a href=”https://www.pennmedicine.org/conditions/bells-palsy”>Penn Medicine,</a> symptoms usually peak within 48 hours and resolve within three weeks for most people. The severity of the paralysis differs from case to case.</p>

According to <a href=”https://www.tmz.com/2025/08/23/lil-nas-x-naked-before-arrest-video/”>TMZ</a>, eyewitnesses made calls to 911 because the rapper was acting erratically. His nude strut down Ventura Blvd isn’t the first hint that something wasn’t quite right with Lil Nas X in recent days, though.</p>

He also changed his bio information. While some fans assume he was teasing a new album, others are concerned that his social media antics are an indication that his mental health has declined. He has mentioned mental health struggles in the past. Lil Nas X has been open about feelings of loneliness and isolation<a href=”https://www.cheatsheet.com/news/shaboozey-thought-lil-nas-xs-old-town-road.html/”> after achieving fame</a>. He also openly discussed his battle with health anxiety after his grandmother’s death in 2018.</p>
