Will Ferrell Says He’s Selling T-Shirts at a Flea Market—And Fans Don’t Know What to Believe

Will Ferrell

Did Will Ferrell really set up a booth at a California flea market? According to the comedian himself… maybe.

The 58-year-old actor recently raised eyebrows after casually revealing he’s been working a very unexpected side hustle.

Ferrell Talked About His Possible Side Hustle

While appearing on the “Harland Highway” podcast in March, Ferrell claimed he’s been selling items at the well-known Rose Bowl Flea Market in Pasadena—a monthly event that draws thousands of shoppers and vintage lovers.

“I’ve been selling T-shirts at the Rose Bowl Swap Meet,” he said, as if it were the most normal thing in the world.

And apparently, it doesn’t stop there.

“T-shirts and ukuleles… they’re T-shirts that I thrift. I find them, I get them and then I up-sell them,” he explained. “[I have] a little table, ukuleles and T-shirts. I clean up. I do pretty well.”

Pressed on how much he actually makes during one of these supposed flea market weekends, Ferrell didn’t hesitate with an answer: “A couple hundy.”

Naturally, fans weren’t sure whether to take him seriously—or chalk it up to his signature deadpan humor.

The clip quickly made its rounds online, even getting shared by an Old Town Pasadena social media account, which joked, “Catch Will Ferrell at the Pasadena flea market selling T-shirts at his booth like it’s the most normal thing in the world.”

Fans Quickly Tried to Figure Out if It Was a Joke

From there, the internet did what it does best: speculate.

“Is he being serious or is he joking? Because you never know with him lol,” one person commented.

“I went and he wasn’t there lol,” another claimed.

Others leaned into the absurdity of the idea altogether. “Damn even Will Ferrell needs a side hustle,” one joked, while another added, “I love the idea of Will Ferrell selling shirts and ukuleles. But he could do anything and sell out. Box of pop tarts with his signature? Done. Half an eaten bagel? Why not?”

Despite the buzz, there hasn’t been any confirmed sighting of Ferrell actually manning a booth at the flea market—at least not yet.

That only adds to the mystery of whether this is an elaborate bit or a surprisingly low-key hobby.

Ferrell Made a Surprise Cameo

Still, the idea isn’t entirely out of character.

Ferrell has built a career on blending reality with absurd humor, often committing fully to offbeat characters and unexpected appearances.

Case in point: his recent cameo at Coachella.

During Sabrina Carpenter’s set, Ferrell popped up in character as a disgruntled handyman after a staged “technical issue” interrupted the performance.

Carrying a massive cable, he grumbled his way across the stage, joking about festival mishaps.

“Sleeping in my car. Someone probably put a Diet Coke on a console board,” he muttered, fully committed to the bit.

Whether he’s actually flipping thrifted tees in Pasadena or just spinning another comedic story, one thing is certain—Ferrell knows how to keep people guessing.

And if he is out there somewhere behind a folding table, don’t be surprised if those “couple hundy” weekends start turning into sell-out crowds.
