WWE fans witnessed the end of The New Day as we know it on Monday Night Raw as Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods tore into a returning Big E.
The former WWE Champion made a surprise comeback during the iconic group’s 10th anniversary celebration as insisted he would serve as their manager until he’s cleared to return from the broken neck he suffered in March 2022.
However, his attempts to bring Kofi and Xavier closer together backfired as they united in a bitter verbal attack on their longtime ally.
They claimed he had been ‘putting himself first’ at The New Day’s expense, insisting he ‘left’ them.
‘You broke your neck. So what,’ Kofi cruelly said, as the duo pointed out that the likes of ‘Stone Cold’ Steve Austin, Kurt Angle and Edge all returned from their own neck injuries.
They argued that if he really cared about them, Big E would have already come back, with Xavier branding him a ‘burden’, telling him he’ll never be cleared.

Kofi refused a hug, and a dejected E left the arena as his two former partners insisted it was just them now as they look to a new beginning after years of wanting a heel turn.
‘Kofi saying,”Yeah you broke your neck, so what?” was so vile and evil I wanted to reach into the tv and choke him out,’ wrote @wrestlestan as viewers fumed over The New Day’s actions.

‘Legit numb. I don’t know if I’m sad or p***ed with Woods/Kofi or disgusted with the whole company for this story,’ said @MyESpirit, while @RixaVentus added: ‘This new day segment had me in tears!!!’
‘Bro this New Day segment is bringing tears to my eyes in the worst possible way #WWERaw,’ agreed @he_ofmanyfaces, as viewers were left broken by the twist in the tale.
@Rt_Sports_Tv wrote: ‘Xavier Woods and Kofi really rekindled their bond by hating on Big E for breaking his neck 😭😭 This is uncharted levels of hate and pure evil.’

Big E has not wrestled since his accident on SmackDown almost three years ago, and Kofi – who was in the ring when the ‘scary’ incident happened – recently opened up on the aftermath in an out of character interview.
He exclusively told Metro.co.uk there was no ‘hesitation’ about New Day ‘soldiering on’ after the injury.
‘The power of positivity is something that we all believe in. He might come back at some point. We don’t know,’ he said. ‘It’s up to us to keep the torch burning… and [make] The New Day one of the greatest factions in the tag teams of all time. That’s still the goal.’
