WWE superstar Seth Rollins has been stripped of the World Heavyweight Championship.

The 39-year-old wrestler, highly regarded as one of the best of his generation, captured the gold at SummerSlam after feigning a knee injury earlier in the summer.

Unfortunately, Rollins is now legitimately injured after hurting his shoulder during a match with Cody Rhodes at Crown Jewel: Perth just over a week ago.

During Monday’s episode of Raw on Netflix, Adam Pearce revealed the title had been vacated, as he put the storyline blame on Rollins’ former Vision teammates Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed.

The general manager also announced a Battle Royale with the winner getting the chance to face number one contender CM Punk at Saturday Night’s Main Event on November 1 to crown a new champ.

In the end, it was Jey Uso who got the win over the likes of his twin brother Jimmy Uso, LA Knight and Dominik Mysterio.

Earlier this month, Rollins was able to finish his match at Crown Jewel despite a rough landing on the Coast to Coast diving headbutt, but reports soon emerged that fans had seen him with his arm in a sling the following day.

Two days later, Raw ended on a huge bombshell as his Vision proteges Bron Breakker and Bronson Reed turned on him.

Fans had anticipated a breakup, but not so soon, leading many to wonder if anything had changed to force WWE’s hand.

During the Crown Jewel postshow, Rollins had revealed the diving headbutt would have ‘long term ramifications’, and PWInsider reported that he was set for surgery on ‘either his shoulder or rotator cuff’.

He was pulled from events last week at Tokyo’s Sumo Hall, and he’s not expecting at Saturday Night’s Main Event on November 1, or Survivor Series: WarGames later that month.

Fans will be hoping he’s able to recover in time for the Royal Rumble in January, which marks the beginning of the road to WrestleMania 42, which returns to Las Vegas in April 2026.

WWE Raw airs Monday nights at 1am on Netflix.
