Rebecca Ferguson, who rose to fame on The X Factor, has reportedly received offers to represent other countries in the next Eurovision Song Contest.
The 38-year-old singer gained popularity when she appeared on Simon Cowell’s singing competition in 2010 with Cheryl as her mentor.
Rebecca is originally from Liverpool, spending her childhood in Huyton before moving to Anfield as a teen and then studying in Bootle.
Now, the Scouser has revealed that while the United Kingdom officials have not been in touch, other European countries have put the feelers out there, expressing keen interest in her representing them.
So, having seemingly been snubbed by her native country, it looks like there’s still a chance of Rebecca taking to the stage in Basel, Switzerland, in May this year.
Speaking on a TikTok Live, the Nothing’s Real But Love hitmaker was asked in the comments: ‘Are you representing the UK in Eurovision?’

She replied: ‘Well, I’ve got something to tell you.
‘Do you know what? No one’s messaged me to do it, but what’s really interesting, I’ve had other offers from other countries to do Eurovision.’
Offering further insight into the early conversations, Rebecca added: ‘What they’ve said is you can’t do it on your own, but you can do it as a duet.’
On how she feels about the opportunity, she said: ‘It’s a weird one for me because I’m being offered Eurovision by other countries to sing with their artists, but then I’m patriotic to my own country.
‘But then, at the same time, I’m like, well, my own country hasn’t asked me.’
She then admitted it would be ‘sad’ to ‘end up doing it with another country’ after the UK failed to secure her.
A clip from the livestream was shared on X and soon viewed over 60,000 times, with fans commenting that she would be a strong choice to represent the UK in the annual competition.

NE0NDAYDREAMING added: ‘that is pretty sad. i still think she should have done it for other countries in this case’.
RYANZOLANSKI agreed: ‘Wouldn’t surprise me if Ukraine invited her to sing after her interval performance with Alyosha in 2023’.
Indeed, Rebecca did partake in the Eurovision celebrations two years ago when the contest was held in her home city on behalf of war-stricken Ukraine, who lifted the trophy in 2022.
That year, Mae Muller represented the UK with I Wrote A Song, which, sadly, placed 25th overall—a stark contrast to Sam Ryder’s entry, which came second.
Rebecca previously admitted that she didn’t feel ‘ready’ to perform on the Eurovision stage so soon after giving birth, having welcomed a baby just three months earlier. However, she was determined not to pass up the opportunity.
Rebecca, who sang Welcome to Our House during the interval, told MailOnline at the time: ‘Physically, I was not feeling ready. I’ve just had a baby; I’ve not been on a diet. In fact, I can’t diet because I’m breastfeeding.

‘I wouldn’t normally have done it. I had to ask myself, ”Am I physically ready?” but then I thought, “Actually, I’m a mum, I’m breastfeeding and I can do it!”‘
Eurovision 2025 will take place at the St. Jakobshalle Arena, with the grand final held on May 17.
The UK’s entrant will be confirmed publicly ahead of the European Broadcasting Union’s deadline in March.
