It has become the worst-kept secret of The Odyssey and the Spider-Man: Brand New Day press tours: Zendaya and Tom Holland, at some point, secretly wed.
The famed couple were rumoured to have tied the knot earlier this year, after a choice red carpet comment from the Euphoria star’s stylist Law Roach about her wedding dress.
Social media then swarmed with convincing-enough AI snaps of the couple at Lake Como nuptials, which fooled so many that Zendaya, 29, had to tell well-wishers that they weren’t legitimate.
Even Holland’s, 30, own grandmother fell for the pictures and thought she hadn’t been invited to the celebration, as he admitted in an interview with Esquire earlier this year, when he confirmed they were indeed married.
When asked if he had to repeat the same clarification to other confused family members, Holland said: ‘No, because they were all there. That’s all you’ll get on that.’
Amid the hoopla of Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s wedding this summer, much was made over the fact Holland and Zendaya opted for such a low-key do that we didn’t even know it had happened.
But it has now been reported that the couple are throwing a big bash after all, at one of Britain’s famed castles, according to the Daily Mail.
Holland and Zendaya are said to be planning the bash at Belvoir Castle in Leicestershire, a stately home on the site of a prior castle built in 1066, after the Norman Conquest.
The mock castle in its place is the result of a rebuilding effort under the aegis of the Manners family, headed by David Manners, 11th Duke of Rutland.
The pad still belongs to the family, but is also open to the public and is available for private hire for weddings and such.
One slight hitch is said to be ticks, after a person connected to the castle picked up one of the Lyme-disease-causing insects from the long grass of the extensive grounds.
A source told the publication that it ‘set the cat among the pigeons’, adding: ‘Tom and Zendaya have since been insistent that no guests should be allowed near that section of the grounds, lest any of the Hollywood A-listers also be subjected to a tick bite.’
As for what the plan for the rumoured party is, the source said ‘it’s going to be massive’ and even used the word ‘epic’, adding: ‘They were perusing the grounds recently, pointing out where they wanted the grand piano and other tents.’
Metro contacted Zendaya and Tom Holland’s representatives for comment on this story.
