Zoe Ball has finally returned to Radio 2 after mysteriously leaving the Breakfast show for the past six weeks.

This morning, the presenter returned to host the Radio 2 Breakfast Show after her long unexplained break that concerned fans.

Speaking to fans at 6:30 today, the star said ‘Morning gorgeous people it’s me Zo’ the happy wanderer. I’ve wandered back.

‘How was your Brat summer? Was it marvellous? We did that in the 90s it was called something different then. Bringing back memories.

‘I hope you’ve been enjoying some of the gorgeous sunsets over the last few weeks. It’s a tad soggy our end this morning. Aquaplaners all over the place, take it easy out on the road.’

The DJ thanked Scott Mills for covering her show while she’s been away and added that he was a ‘dear friend.’

She also joked that she hadn’t been to Turkey to have a ‘new face and teeth,’ but didn’t divulge exactly where she had been for the past month and a bit.

She then told listeners: ‘What have I missed? Text me. I’ve missed ya!’

Zoe was last on the radio on August 8, and replaced for her usual schedule by Scott Mills on August 12. Scott and Gaby Roslin have continued to work as stand-in presenters for the breakfast show while she has been away.

Scott didn’t reveal why the presenter was absent and told listeners at the time: ‘Good Morning. You weren’t expecting me, were you? Welcome to Monday. It’s Scott Mills.

‘If you set your alarm every morning to go off at 6.30 and normally Zoe comes on please do not freak out. You have not overslept. I’m here doing the Breakfast Show do not panic. It’s early. You aren’t late for work. It’s Monday 12th August.’

Speaking to a listener on the show Zoe said on her return: ‘Scott’s done a great job of looking after you, I love that boy, do you know Victoria that he used to have to do my show for me in the 90s sometimes – slightly different circumstances this time – but he’s gorgeous!’

Earlier this year, Zoe suffered a devastating loss as her mother died suddenly in April just 12 weeks after being diagnosed with cancer.

The radio DJ had announced her mother Julia Peckham’s pancreatic cancer diagnosis in March and took time off work to care for her in what was her last unexpected absence.

It has been reported that Zoe has ‘sold her £2,000,000 mansion to move closer to ex-husband Fatboy Slim’ near Brighton and Hove. During her break, she was snapped spending time with her children, her ex, and several friends in a cafe near Hove.

Zoe’s son commented on her recent ‘tough times’. ‘My mum and I like to keep our private lives to ourselves,’ Woody said.

‘But I will say I have spent a lot more time with her recently, as she has always been there for me in tough times. I’m glad to see her smiling.’
