100-foot yacht catches fire in Marina del Rey, fireworks cited

MARINA DEL REY — A fire stemming from fireworks damaged a boat in Marina del Rey on Wednesday night.

The Los Angeles County Fire Department said the involved boat is about 100 feet long.

The fire was reported shortly after 8:30 p.m. in the 2200 block of Basin A as firefighters worked to douse the flames.

KTLA reported that the fire stemmed from fireworks exploding on the vessel, threatening other boats nearby and several structures.

An investigation into the fire was underway.
