The Coronation of King Charles III is just around the corner with the country gearing up to celebrate.

A whole weekend of events is planned to celebrate the historic crowning of the monarch and his wife, Queen Camilla.

From a special Coronation Concert with a star-studded bill to Big Lunches and community projects, Britons won’t be short of things to do across the weekend and special bank holiday.

What’s more, a number of companies are getting in on the coronation fever and offering freebies and discounts for a limited time.

Everything from beloved snacks to free holidays is up for grabs – though some have a few caveats to claim the prize.

We all love something free, right? So here’s how you can claim some coronation bargains.

National Railcards

Is your name Charles Phillip, or similar? If so, you could be in with the chance of receiving a free railcard.

National Railcard is giving away 100 free railcards to anyone with the first and middle name, or first and last name, like King Charles.

The giveaway will run from May 5 to May 8 on the National Rail Instagram page.

To enter, all you need to do is comment with your name, and the first 100 people to prove their identity after claiming will get a free railcard.

Celebrate the coronation with a sweet treat from any Farmhouse Inns establishment from May 6 to May 8.

You can grab a free slice of raspberry and lemonade cake as part of their limited-time offer – but there’s a catch.

To do so, you need to wear a crown or tiara and say ‘a royal slice’ while ordering cake to claim your freebie.

From May 5 to May 8, if you spend more than £12.50 on Just Eat, you can claim a freebie from Greggs.

Diners can bag themselves a free sausage roll or vegan roll as part of the offer.

Those wanting to take advantage of the offer can order on Just Eat through their website or app.


Costa Club app members will be able to get 25% off food in time for the coronation bank holiday weekend.

Launching on May 5, the deal includes the cafe chain’s brand new Coronation chicken toastie.

The deal can be used on up to 10 food items in one transaction and is available in-store or via Click & Collect.

Burger King

Diners at Burger King from May 6 to May 8 will be able to claim a buy one, get one free deal.

Anyone that buys a Chicken Royal or Vegan Royal burger over coronation weekend will receive another absolutely free.

What’s more, the eatery has also unveiled a limited-edition crown to celebrate the occasion.

Club Pret members can claim a free sandwich from their local store on May 6.

The sandwiches on offer include a Coronation bloomer sandwich, or the vegetarian alternative, a Coronation egg bloomer.

Club Pret is a monthly subscription service costing £30 per month in which you get five free Barista-made drinks per day and 10% off the whole menu.

When you sign up the first month is half price, and you can sign up at the Pret website.


Hellmann’s has teamed up with London cafe E. Pellicci to give away free coronation sandwiches on May 6.

And what’s more, they’ve also roped in EastEnders star Shaun Williamson.

There are vegetarian options available for the sandwiches on offer – with both options containing a hearty dollop of Hellmann’s new coronation mayo coleslaw.

To redeem the offer, you need to visit the Bethnal Green Road eatery from 11am to 3pm.

Sandwiches are on a first come, first served basis so you’ll need to act fast.

Hello Fresh

Don’t fancy cooking over coronation weekend? Never fear, Hello Fresh is giving away a number of free Royal Boxes.

There’s a catch, however, and you need to be named Charles or Camilla to claim the free grub.

You could nab some Crown Jewels of your own as high street jeweller Beaverbrooks is giving away freebies to celebrate the coronation.

Each of its 64 stores across the UK will be giving away a £100 gift card on May 6.

To be in with a chance of winning, however, you will need to be named Charles or Camilla and bring proof of your name to claim the prize.

It’s not just us humans that deserve a treat over the coronation weekend.

Diners at Bill’s restaurant from May 6 to May 8 can claim free dog treats if they own a King Charles spaniel.

The treats on offer will be from Denzel’s premium rewards range.

Warner Holidays

If the long coronation weekend isn’t enough of a break for you, Warner Holidays is giving away a number of free vacations to celebrate.

If you are named Charles or Camilla, you could win one of 10 holidays fit for a king.

Each winner will receive a two-night dinner, bed and breakfast break in a hotel of their choice across 15 UK locations for two guests.

To enter, you need to complete a form on the Warner Holidays website before 11.59pm on May 14.

You will also need to confirm your name is Charles or Camilla for your entry to be valid.


Butlins is also getting in on the free holiday action for the coronation.

If your name is Charles or Camilla, or a variation of either, you could win a break for your family to visit a resort of your choice in 2023/24.

Bletchley Park

To celebrate the coronation, anyone named Charles or Camilla – or a derivative thereof – can get free entry to Bletchley Park.

The offer will be available from May 6 to May 8, and visitors will need to produce ID on arrival to redeem the offer.

Bletchley Park has a royal connection of its own, with the grandmother of Catherine, Princess of Wales, working there as a Codebreaker.

There will be a number of special activities over the weekend, including a fly-past by the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight’s Lancaster, themed puzzles, and coronation afternoon tea.

‘This is all about celebrating the Coronation, our new monarchs and welcoming Charles and Camilla to the throne,’ said Dawn Barlow, head of operations.

‘And we wanted to extend that welcome even further to all whose first names are Charles or Camilla! I think the King and Queen might just be a bit busy over the Bank Holiday weekend, but of course, they would be very welcome to come and claim a free ticket!’

Travellers will be able to book a trip on a horse-drawn carriage between 1pm and 4pm as part of the company’s Coronation Carriage event.

To take a ride on the special four-horse-drawn carriage, head to the Carriage Drive entrance of Dulwich Park in London.

From there, the Coronation Carriage Concierge will book your trip through the app.

A limited amount of rides will be available per day, so get there early if you want to secure your chance.
