16 people shot overnight in Chicago

At least 16 people were shot early Sunday in Chicago.

No one has died from the overnight shootings and most of the victims — the youngest of whom was 14 — are in stable condition, according to Chicago police. The majority of the violence happened in a two-hour stretch from 1:30 a.m. to 3:30 a.m. Sunday.

Four teenagers were injured in a single incident in Little Village, according to police. Police officers heard gunshots and found the four victims shot in the 2500 block of South Washtenaw Avenue at around 3 a.m. The victims told officers the gunman ran from the scene. No one has been arrested.

All four were taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in good condition: a 14-year-old boy shot in the arm, an 18-year-old woman shot in the buttocks, a 16-year-old girl was shot in the leg, and a second 16-year-old girl also shot in the leg.

About 15 minutes later, another shooting left multiple people injured. Three people suffering from gunshot wounds arrived together at Mount Sinai around 3:15 a.m. One of them was a 29-year-old man who was shot multiple times and is in critical condition, according to police.

The other two victims, a 30-year-old man and a 27-year-old man, were each shot in the leg and are in fair condition. The 30-year-old man was shot in the 2200 block of South Keeler Avenue in Little Village. Police have not released where the other two men were shot.
