18 people shot so far during Memorial Day weekend in Chicago

At least 18 people have been shot over Memorial Day weekend in Chicago.

No one has died from the shootings since Saturday and most of the victims — the youngest of whom was 14 — are in stable condition, according to Chicago police. The majority of the violence happened in a two-hour stretch from 1:30 a.m. to 3:30 a.m. Sunday.

Only one person was injured in a shooting on Saturday. A 32-year-old man suffered three gunshot wounds while he was standing outside around 10:05 a.m. in the 7300 block of South Carpenter Street in Englewood. He was taken to St. Bernard Hospital in fair condition, police said.

On Sunday, four teenagers were injured in a single incident in Little Village, according to police. Police officers heard gunshots and found the four victims shot in the 2500 block of South Washtenaw Avenue at around 3 a.m. The victims told officers the gunman ran from the scene. No one has been arrested.

All four were taken to Mount Sinai Hospital in good condition: a 14-year-old boy shot in the arm, an 18-year-old woman shot in the buttocks, a 16-year-old girl was shot in the leg, and a second 16-year-old girl also shot in the leg.

About 15 minutes later, another shooting left multiple people injured. Three people suffering from gunshot wounds arrived together at Mount Sinai around 3:15 a.m. One of them was a 29-year-old man who was shot multiple times and is in critical condition, according to police.

The other two victims, a 30-year-old man and a 27-year-old man, were each shot in the leg and are in fair condition. The 30-year-old man was shot in the 2200 block of South Keeler Avenue in Little Village. Police have not released where the other two men were shot.
