Construction is underway on the world’s first Lion King themed land that is expected to open at Disney Adventure World in 2027 or 2028.

The centerpiece of the new land will be a Pride Rock water ride reminiscent of the former Splash Mountain attraction at Disneyland.

The log flume ride will take riders inside the caves dotting the 120-foot-high Pride Rock on an adventure with Simba featuring next-generation Audio-Animatronics figures, special effects and music from the “Lion King” film.

Riders will pass through familiar scenes from the Academy Award-winning film as they navigate a series of climbs and descents – including a 52-foot-high drop.
