2 men wounded, 1 critically, in Chatham shooting

A pair of men were wounded in a shooting Wednesday evening in Chatham, Chicago police said.

At about 7:45 p.m. in the 800 block of East 79th Street, two men were shot by another man, who had approached them before fleeing the scene on foot, according to police.

A 29-year-old man was shot in the face and taken to the University of Chicago Medical Center in serious condition, police said.

A 44-year-old man suffered multiple gunshot wounds and was taken to the same hospital in critical condition.

Area 2 detectives are investigating. No suspect information has been released.
