Three people were killed and another injured in a head-on collision in South Deering early Sunday morning, Chicago police said.
A red Dodge Challenger was traveling northbound in the 11200 block of South Stony Island Avenue at 3:04 a.m. when it collided head-on with a black Dodge Challenger going southbound, police said. The 20-year-old man driving the red car, the 21-year-old man driving the black car and a 19-year-old woman who was in the black car all were pronounced dead at the scene.
A man, 20, who was a passenger in the red car, was taken to University of Chicago Medical Center in fair condition, police said.
An investigation is underway.
