Authorities are investigating a multiple-vehicle crash that killed three people who were ejected from at least one of the involved vehicles.
The crash was reported about 4:25 p.m. Wednesday, the California Highway Patrol received a report that a white dodge truck had collided with another truck at the intersection of state Route 138 (Avenue D) and 110th Street West, an officer said.
All three ejected victims were pronounced dead at the scene and a fourth person was taken to a hospital by Los Angeles County Fire Department personnel, according to reports from the scene.
The victims’ names were not immediately available.
It was the second major crash in Lancaster in a few hours on Wednesday.
Earlier, a Rosamond-bound transit bus left Sierra Highway near Avenue C and ended up its side, critically injuring the driver.
As many as 40 people were aboard the bus, and some 20 of them were injured in the crash, though less seriously than the driver.
A passenger told a videographer at the scene that the crash occurred when a rock hit the windshield of the bus.
