3 Peninsula man arrested for stealing 90 pairs of glasses

Novato police arrested four suspects in the theft of about $33,000 worth of eyewear products, including 90 pairs of glasses.

The theft happened at about 3 p.m. Friday at the LensCrafters store at the Vintage Oaks Shopping Center. Witnesses said the thieves fled in a Dodge Charger without license plates. A California Highway Patrol officer stopped the vehicle on southbound Highway 101 in Terra Linda.

Investigators determined that three men and a 17-year-old boy were the thieves. They also found the allegedly stolen merchandise in the vehicle, police said.

A 1-year-old child in the vehicle was released to a grandparent.

Daly City residents Cuauhtémoc Cristo Ramirez, 21, and Steven Cordova Hernandez, 21, were booked into the Marin County Jail on suspicion of organized retail theft, conspiracy and grand theft. Cristo Ramirez is being held without a bail amount because of an alleged parole violation. Cordova Hernandez’s bail was set at $25,000.

Armani Del Rosario, 23, of Pacifica was arrested on suspicion of child endangerment, organized retail theft, grand theft and conspiracy. He was released from jail after posting a $50,000 bond, sheriff’s Lt. Brennan Collins said. Del Rosario could not be reached for comment.

The 17-year-old suspect was booked into juvenile hall.
